Go on strike and block Republicans from entering congress.
They could go on strike, but I’m absolutely certain they’d be arrested if they blocked the entrances to the Capitol building. It would only generate awareness, just like this sit-in.
Pretty pathetic leadership and protest movement if you're afraid of going to jail.

Lead from the front you pansies.
Creating minor inconveniences isn't newsworthy, but an elected official getting arrested is.
While I can respect what their trying to do but don't call it a sit-in because it's a fucking Sunday, there's not even a minor inconvenience here.
Sounds like good trouble
Right, but I’m saying the benefit is the same. They wouldn’t be able to effectively stop the Republicans from voting by force. It would only increase awareness around the protest of the social programs cuts, just like this sit-in.
Do you even understand what the sit in movement was? I really don't think you understand the point of them at all.
Just glad you and Jefferies weren't leading the civil rights movement, otherwise we'd be in a Lionel Hutz moment with the "Jail, No Bail" to "Jail? No, Bail.".
Pretty sure that's illegal.
Insisting on the confines of legality when the opposing side has shed any pretence of legality months (arguably years) ago is... a stance to take. Just not a winning one.
You're free to believe that. I'm saying that if you're going to stage a protest, a legal one is better than an illegal one.
And you are free to believe otherwise. But sadly I don't see legal protests having any effect on a government actively seeking to undermine the rule of law.
If you want to do something illegal, may as well do something more direct. I don't see a giving an easy win to cops and politicians being very effective either.
Well actually "don't do anything illegal" seems to be the thing giving an easy win to cops and politicians here.
"Oh, they are ignoring the laws and putting people in concentration camps? Just politely tell them they are wrong, that'll show them!"
Oh hey! Another moderate that MLK wrote about.
