All blue states and some people act like democrats don’t do anything useful.

To be fair that's a symptom of the 2 party system. There's just as many democrats that would see this as inane as there are ones that would support it. I think most people who would vote dem could agree we should have stricter control of when and how we share our data though; so you get a voter base that isn't properly represented because they don't have to be because they only have one choice among progressive voting lines.

no we shit on them for actively lying about and preventing QOL improvements like healthcare, fixes to the power imbalance between labor and corps, etc. this is about 3 decades later than it should have been. and we've been talking about universal healthcare ~ a century at this point.

at some point you need to accept they suck and are not doing what they should be and its literally killing people. you dont get a pat on the back just because some one else is killing people faster than you.

you have democratic candidates running around blaming trans people for their loss last year, you have them actively supporting trump initiatives this year. while simultaneous spewing bullshit about how people are going to vote for them in the midterms because trump. Quick question: what if we dont? because they still suck, and are not offering us any reason to vote for them?

lets perform a little critical thinking shall we?

go find documented evidence of the majority of democratic candidates having policy positions in support for single payer and ran on them. or have any coherent policy changes at the party level that would actually fix the issues with health care / the destruction of the middle class due to corporate power imbalances.

until you can answer those two questions you're going to continue to see democrats lose ground to fascists.

A group can do good things and still deserve criticism.

what a completely useless statement. the problem is democrats have been abandoned by the population at large because of their lack of doing things that have a positive and material impact on the american middle class and if they dont fix this in the next few months they'll likely never get a chance to and we're all worse off for it.

biden barely started to do it and then lost all the political capital he potentially had because he decided breaking a strike and supporting a genocide was more important than winning. and harris followed him off the cliff.

Illinois is red as it gets. Chicagoland is blue.

[–] Telorand@reddthat.com 10 points 1 week ago

Land doesn't vote. Chicago easily outnumbers the population of the rest of the state. Illinois might be red without Chicago, but that doesn't mean they're the majority just because they are spread out over the remaining area.

Its more than chicagoland and the vast majority of the populace. But yeah south of kankaee is sorta enclaves here and there.

As someone who lives in St. Louis, holy fucking shit this is true. As soon as you get past the ruins of East St. Louis, it turns to trump world really quick
