I learned the other day that beehaw blocks lemmy.world due to the amount of bad faith actors in that instance and it got me curious so I decided to block it in my settings last night. It's a bit of weird move for me personally as I've always been one to say that blocking should only be used as a last resort. But I wanted to make myself contribute to some of the smaller instances as I dislike how so much is centralized at LW.
Has anyone on here done something similar? I'm curious to hear other peoples thoughts on the matter.
Yeah, I've blocked lemmy.world and there are a lot fewer obnoxious users showing up. Less content as well, but not so much that I miss it.
Yeah, I've been browsing throughout the day and been liking it. You still get to see comments from users on that instance but it's a lot less noise so far.
