The Post Office had a strike back in the 70s, which was the largest wildcat strike in US history. The result was the Postal Reorganization Act which led to lots of good stuff, but a clause that prevents postal workers from striking.

But, if they nullify union contracts, guess what? We go on strike, an even bigger wildcat strike, and within 5 days there's gonna be so much shit piled up that it'd take months to dig out. Everyone buys everything online nowadays, FedEx and UPS and Amazon rely on us for last mile for a lot of shit, you name it, it'd be sitting and not going anywhere. No ground shipper would function if USPS just randomly shut down.

Letter carriers have their own union, NALC, and while UPS and FedEx got ridiculously huge raises post-pandemic, carriers just got 3.9%. 3.9%. We're like hungry dogs salivating at the thought of being able to go on strike, but they got us chained up... But if they overturn labor laws they effectively let us off the leash.

So yeah, go ahead, overturn labor laws and we'll destroy every small business in America. Good luck and have fun! :)

I'm with you and if I catch some other carrier trying to deliver my mail they're going to get run off pretty quick. If they touch my mailbox, then I'm calling the cops. I do ship larger packages with UPS because USPS doesn't have good rates for larger items but they're also union. I won't ship with FedEx, fuck that company.

If they go on strike, I'll chase off the carrier for my apartment every day until we win. That is, when I'm not fighting along with my own union.
