So you're saying i have to write tests for my test cases now? Ooof.

Hey everybody, I'm looking for the best Android apps using the todo.txt format.

On desktop I like Sleek and I hope to find a fitting app for Android.

(NOT looking for general todo apps but specifically todo.txt apps)

I'm interested in recommendations for apps to share ideas, links, screenshots, text,... with my wife.

Use cases: sharing possible vacation spots, things we need to buy for our kid, interesting articles about specific topics, useful links regarding a project we're both working on and so on.

Currently it's all cluttered in text messages.

I've looked into

and a few others but most of these tools are geared towards project management while I'm looking for something more versatile/"creative".

Here is what I need:

  • Android and Windows Client or preferably Webapp
  • Easy sharing from Android and browser
  • Possibility to create different workspaces/topics/channels
  • Decent and simple UI
  • FOSS is a plus
  • Doesn't have to bee free
  • Not selfhosted

Thanks everybody!

I'm using "Top 6 hours" as my default sorting option but everytime I open the app it's back to "Hot".

Is this just a bug for me or a known issue?

I am a regular Osmand user, but I don't know much about how OSM works in detail. I noticed that in some services that use OSM, addresses appear like in this screenshot.

This second part of the address often has interesting names that I've never heard even for places I know well.

To me it looks like the name of a Gemarkung or something similar.

  • What's the correct term for this part of an address?
  • Where is this data derived from?
  • Is it possible to show a map with the borders of these Gemarkungen (or whatever it is called)?

Also glad if someone can point me to the docs where I can read about this. I browsed the wiki but couldn't find what I was looking for.

Also interested about the correct terms for the other parts of the addresses.

Thanks!

As a non-native speaker I encounter this phrase from time to time (in podcasts and such) and I'd like to understand the use (beside the literal meaning which is obvious).

Why would you say that? or sometimes Why do you say that?

To me, that sounds almost rude, like rebuking the questioner. However, the context usually leads me to conclude that this sentence is to be understood neutrally, in the sense of "I am interested in the background of the question".

How should the sentence usually be used? Or does it depend solely on the tone the phrase is used?

So, honestly not sure if something like this exists.

Going on vacation and looking for an entry-level RPG like game that I can play together with my wife while camping.

It could be pen and paper based or an actual board game. But it needs to be a guided story which requires little preparation. Also open for other suggestions for 2p other than the typical classic/card games.

Thanks everyone!

EDIT: Thanks y'all for your recommendations, I will check everything out! Lot of promising options here!

Is this something that is not yet implemented in Voyager or is it just a bad idea to use markdown in post titles?

Don't worry, we're already doing all the typical toddler games and I'm not keen on raising a STEM child prodigy. That's why I asked for hands-on experiences with prodcuts specifically for toddlers.

Do any of you have experienced good products for tinkering together with a 3 year old?

I thought about something like a giant breadboard with simple connectors to switch on a light or play a sound or something.

It doesn't have to be too fancy, just sturdy and safe to play together with an adult.

Thanks!

Will this undermine most of what makes IAmA special? Probably. But Reddit leadership has all the funds they need to hire people to perform those extra tasks we formerly undertook as volunteer moderators, and we'd be happy to collaborate with them if they choose to do so.

This works great for me on lemmy instances! However, it doesn't seem to work on kbin.social (it is included in const INSTANCES_KBIN). Would be great if this was working on kbin instances too!
