Unpopular opinion: sub to a plex/emby server. All your favorite shows on one platform, probably in 4k too, works on all devices, you never need to think ahead about torrenting something. Mine is 10$/month.

USA-backed jewish radical terrorists continue their unlawful expansion and genocide in the middle east by declaring war on Lebanon.

What a banger of a headline.

Fk you Austria.

But also, finally, fuckin thank you ECJ. This is literally the only reasonable view of the situation. Any woman in Afghanistan needs to just get up and fuckin leave. And we need to grant them all asylum

As everywhere on lemmy it will be "oh no, only the rich will get it".

Yes, as with every new treatment. But also, once it's ironed out, it will become available to everyone.

No, communism won't solve the scarcity problem of a newly developed treatment, although it would imply a different distribution mechanism. And if socialist/communist society isn't a perfect utopia you somehow imagine we could transition to tomorrow, you'd see a distribution mechanism for those novel treatments to be unfair in other ways.

So, here's what we have: money is being invested into novel treatment research, it's initially only affordable to the rich, then to those who're willing to sell their house for it, then to those with a private insurance, and then, eventually, to everyone.

It's not a perfect system, but it's a system that gets us all better healthcare every year.

So, ask yourself if maybe every one one of your comments always boils down to "I wish we lived in a communist utopia". Cuz, you know, I'm actually with you, but I don't see this running in circles being useful. And, for your default country, I also hardly see a way there through a democratic process.

You can buy a house in that village for like 50k. I'm not kidding. If it's very pretty and touristy, make it 100k.

Please, point out to me, in the methodology of the poll, which is provided at the bottom of the page, where is it stated that 46/49 numbers are some arbitrary chances of winning the election?

My reading is that they're averages of other polls that are polling popular vote, e.g. simply asking "which candidate would you vote for if the elections were tomorrow?".

But, please, I'm happy to be proven wrong.

Look, you can't even make a simple logical conjecture. Each of your messages has shown an utter inability of using simple first-order logic. And yet you claim to have a graduate degree in a math-related subject? Tell me more about the smell of what's coming out.

Meh. That exists everywhere.

If you got a college degree you can move to a lot of places in the US which have a higher HDI and a living standard than almost anything in Europe. And you don't even need to learn a new language.

Cry all you want about healthcare, but as a white-collar worker you'll have a corporate insurance plan and it will be lit. Try some European public healthcare afterwards, that will be a harsh downgrade, I promise.

You do have a biiig problem is if you're uneducated and working at McDonald's or an Amazon warehouse. Cuz then you're fucked. Like for life. And don't you dare go unemployed, homeless, or get sick. Cuz, life, apparently can be worse than being an amazon slave, and apparently you won't ever "recover" (to your previous slave state) from falling that low.

And, ofc, it's fun to live in a society like that.

But you definitely don't need to personally struggle on a daily basis. Unless by choice.

I am sure I am the only one so far who used a "3-sigma-improbable".

Everyone else kept talking about electoral college, which means nothing in the context of a popular vote poll.

To me it seems like you choose to ignore facts.

Compared to you, I do understand a lot about polls, population samples, sampling methodologies, importance weighting, confidence intervals, and other related stuff. On a level way above high school.

And I think it's interesting that you likely talk in the same tone to all your political opponents while insinuating its their lack of education that is the problem. And, it does correlate. Your political opponents on average are less educated than your political supporters. And so, you using that when clearly misrepresenting the facts surely makes them feel like listening to your arguments and carefully considering them. After all, they come from someone better educated than them, yeah?

You need to either find a way to start changing things, or move to a different country, or accept that there's nothing you can do, vote dem every 4 years while staying away from political content.

You can't just be angry every day in a group of people 100% sharing your views. This gets you and the country nowhere.

If you don't agree that banning

Yes, yes, once you come to power and become a benevolent dictator, you will purge like half of your countrymen in the name of the greater good and kindness.

It used to be that simple: r/plexshares, click any link, join the server, watch all you want.

Well, they really cracked down on that. Plex purged the servers en masse, my server switched to some obscure emby, r/plexshares is closed for good.

I'm in a need of a new server. Where do I even go? What platform is best to sail the seas now? Jellyfin?

P.S. my torrent days are over, thanks. I'm not interested in self-hosting anything either, again, thanks. 10$/month is a reasonable subscription fee for an all-you-can-eat streaming service

I understand that the battery degrades over time.

However, without any apparent reason I found my scooter does not charge above 51.6V while a full charge used to be 55.9V. (I own a Zero 9).

It hasn't been used for two weeks before this happened, but I left it roughly half-charged, which should be ideal for a long-term idle time.

Any clues on what's going on?
