Lmao. Really hit a nerve judging by the comments

Look at the inverse of the square root function, f(x)=x² (https://www.desmos.com/calculator/2v5gzbhru8)

You can get the sqrt of a given y by looking at the x axis. E.g. the value of y=4 has two solutions, x=2 and x=-2. This however does not mean that the sqrt of -4 is also 2! If you look at graph you can see that there are no solutions for y less than 0.

sqrt(-1) , sqrt(-2) (i ill omit imaginary numbers here) and so on do not have a solution. There is nothing you can replace with such that x × x is < 0 because multiplying two negatives always nets a positive.

I'd also like to suggest https://icones.js.org/ / iconify, if your use case is webdev

Python with ESModules would be neat.

Every time I type if typing.TYPE_CHECKING a part of me dies inside

No. Horizons4.X and Odyssey4.X affect the same galaxy, but cannot instance or join wings

Would also recommend Odyssey right now. It's like 10€ on Steam. Don't get it for the on-foot content (there are better shooters out there) - get it for the community. Basically 90% of players are on the odyssey servers.

They made the grind a loooot more bearable

Consistent Engineering (e.g. 5 Rolls to get full on a G5 rolls, always) and missions that give you a respectable amount if mats.

As for PP2. I like the idea. I hate the execution.

It has definitely brought back life to the game. People are organising themselves to take and defend systems.

It's just that merit acquisition is extremely unbalanced.

It's way easier to reinforce a system by parking your carrier in thr Lave cluster, stocking up on rare goods, flying back and then dumping that in the market.

A cutter full of rares can give you north of 20k merits. Meanwhile you won't have the time on a day to counter those 20k by undermining unless you deploy some cheese strategies like focusing on Fighters at a stronghold carrier.

And the annoying part about that is that the enemy can do all this in Solo. No way for you to prevent them influencing the system but to outgrind them.

Meh. Zu komplex um sich's zu merken :P

Was bringt mir Glasfaser wenn ich dank Telekoms abscheulichem Peering trotzdem nur 2kBit/s gegen bestimmte Server bekomme?

This definition of "better" feels like claiming that a Beeper that's constantly hooked to power is the perfect alarm because it warns you every time someone is trying to break in - while entirely ignoring that it is just constantly blaring.

Griefings, CMDRs!

What a week this was. Many rebuys have been claimed. In fact, this week¹ has broken the record for most kills in a week, and by a long shot. This week¹, we had a total of 5.254 Kills.

I would like to congratulate every CMDR out there who has made this incredible feat possible.

I would also like to personally congratulate the following CMDRs, who have managed to get more than 500 Kills each this week¹.

  • CMDR Cobalt Viper × 534
  • CMDR A Face for Radio × 511
  • CMDR Radec. × 503
  • CMDR Ars145 × 502

In addition, I would like to congratulate CMDR Cobalt Viper for setting a new global weekly¹ record.

Some interesting figures

The Python Mk 2 was the most used ships for kills at 4.011 Logged kills, followed by the FDL at 710. The most killed ship was the Krait II with a total of 1391 Rebuys.

This week, Elite-Ranked CMDRs were both the ones killing and dying the most. Usually, Mostly Harmless CMDRs take #1 on the dying part. In fact, this Week has only had 95 Harmless kills!

The kills focused on ShinDez - that's where the CG took place. Out of the 5254 Kills 4339 took place in ShinDez, followed by the adjacent staging system V886 Centauri with 470.

You can have an updated view of our statistics over at https://gankers.org/elite/weekly/graphs?ts=2024-09-26T00:00:00Z

Again, thanks for reading and thank's for making this possible.
