If you had asked me a couple weeks ago, I would have said Unihertz. I loved my tiny little Jelly Star.

Unfortunately, the backlight for the screen died. It is still technically under warranty, but the options they gave me were 1) We'll ship you the part, and you can pay a local shop to put it in. 2) Pay to mail us the phone, and we'll fix it and get it back to you in the next month or two. or 3) Buy a replacement phone at a discount.

It irks me that the only option that won't cost me more money is having them ship me the part and trying to replace it myself.

I still like the little phone, but there is no way in hell I am giving that company any more of my money.

Sorry for the rant. To actually answer the question: I like my Google Phone. I don't love Google per se, but the phone itself works pretty well.

During the height of the pandemic, the wife convinced me a few times to just be lazy and order delivery. Every single time I remember eating the food, and thinking "I could have made this better, faster, and cheaper than what I am currently eating".

The word "demo" is used as an abbreviation for both demolish and demonstrate. I like to assume the wrong option whenever possible.

Example:

Salesman: Would you like to demo our product?

Me: Hell yeah! Let me get my sledge and a Sawzall.

I've plans to brew a wheat wine. It's just so much malt that I find it hard to justify, but I really want to try. 20 years ago it was a fairly uncommon offering at a local brewery that I loved, and I've wanted to try and recreate it ever since.

Sorry to hear about your unfortunate being-from-the-UK accident.

Is it the high gloss stuff, or the 80 grit option?

I think having a car enables bad habits.

I can walk/bus to work in 35 minutes, but I can drive there in 10.

Do I really need to take the car? No.

Do I still do it almost half of the time? Yes.

Why? Because it's just slightly more convenient, and some days that's enough.

I don't think most people look at the list of moderators before submitting content.

I have seen their name a lot, and though I think I share similar opinions with them on a lot of things, I find they tend to be more condescending and insulting for my particular preference.

Technically only one Judy Bloom book, but your point still stands and I agree. It's pretty bizarre.

I assumed age appropriate was regarding content not difficulty. It is still a weird thing to emphasize though.

I'll boop you on the snoot.

....and now we wait.

I find most foods are best as soon as they are made, but some things seem to get better when the flavors have more time to meld. The only two I can think of right now are chili and hummus. What other dishes am I forgetting, or haven't tried that you think get better with a little time?
