"Geothermal energy is a DEI hire." - Texas GOP next week (if the owners of company do not "donate" appropriately).

"This is your brain on ~~drugs~~ tips."

But seriously: If a federal livable wage ($20+, adjusted regularly) killed tipping, what a relief that would be to most people. Tipping should return to being an unexpected surprise for truly exceptional service.

I guess I'm just saying: Have these people ever actually voted for Democrats? We know T**** caters to lunacy and cults, and they're welcome there. RFK will divide those, and perhaps hold off the idiocracy a bit longer.

Mostly, the former D's I hear about are people who were transformed by new wealth (Silicon Valley and libertarian types). Probably not enough of them in swing states.

Anyway, these are the things that help me sleep at night. Silver Bulletin and 538 will keep me sane, until they don't.

Yes, Musk has made people hate anything he's involved in, or that enriches him. It's only natural; Actions have consequences. He's a severely mentally ill billionaire, increasingly detached from reality. And now his politics and disinformation are a danger to millions of people. If SpaceX or Tesla wants to feel the love, they know what to do. Until then, I can only assume they accept the consequences.

He's polling around 5%, and Democrats seem pretty happy with their candidates now. More than Republicans at least, with their addled, deranged old man. RFK Jr hasn't done much to attract actual voting D's in the last decade. It will still be interesting, but reasonable people know he's not viable.

Also, incentives for union-made American products. Whoops, Elen and Tesla is anti-union. Seems to be the root of his hate for Biden.

They are absolutely losing their minds right now. Love to see it. (Thanks, Biden.) And no doubt getting screamed 24/7 at by Donnie. While he fails to do anything they advise him to. Also: "Iran hacked us!" Sure, lol.

Where's the big floppy pole vaulter?

[–] vanontom@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago

Good info, thanks. Generally, that's what I would expect from any area owned by the oil and gas industry (and/or just exceptionally corrupt). Kind of surprised that California still doesn't have more progressive energy policies. And allows PG&E to regularly embarrass the state.

As Russian military continues to purposely destroy supermarkets, homes, schools, hospitals, energy infrastructure, entire towns, etc.

I wonder how many "innocent" Russians know of any of that. Or that their soldiers kidnapped and raped women and children. Tortured and executed others. "Fake news" I'm sure they'd conveniently claim. Ignorance is bliss, until the bombs start dropping on their town.

Literally anything. It seems "They've tried (almost) nothing, and they're all out of ideas!" This is such a mind-boggling fuckup from Biden. Probably the biggest of his presidency.

Israel is run by out-of-control extremists and racists (much like T**** regime). Who will justify any killing, because "they're in danger" (also sounds familiar). Biden is seemingly vetoing his own advisors, as Netanyahu continually kills civilians, Israeli hostages, and chance after chance at a ceasefire.

I really hope Harris has a more intelligent approach. It wouldn't take much.

Why would any rational person believe a word T**** or his campaign says. Highly skeptical it was done by Iran. The docs don't even seem very interesting, let alone damaging.
