I use /e/OS. Its an ungoogled android rom. Anyways, even if you use stock android privacy isn't black and white. Any bit of privacy you can bear to preserve is a step worth preserving. Theres a difference in google getting some of your data or all of your data. Stock youtube is also too much focused on retention maximation for me. I find some creators interesting but think the addictive nature of youtube is toxic

I just went to mastadon.social for mastadon and like the biggest national lemmy instance we have, feddit. Although I have to criticize the old instance of feddit shutting down unexpectedly and I had to migrate to a newer one.
When I saw comments about it initially, I was thinking about it a bit and thought all likelihood the people who thought it was fake were probably following the same line of reasoning as Trump supporters 2020. I don't think the left is immune to thinking more people think alike than they actually do. I don't like having a google account that has google tracking any video I watch. Also... the recommendations are more addicting and with Tubular (NewPipe fork) and Freetube I just imported my subs and follow them a bit. Never had to deal with the shitty youtube website once. Also, ReVanced still uses the proprietary YouTube apk and I prefer free software on my phone

Since I was curious I checked the actual amount of upvotes and downvotes of my post on mbin. It got 56 upvotes and 66 downvotes according to them since I was curious. Seems I hurt their little ego when I mentioned blocking their instance.
For more context: I already had the communism and lefty communites blocked. I'd consider myself middle-left of the political spectrum but personally don't believe in some grand revolution saving us all. Most left communities on here seem to far out there for my personal taste at least. My comment is deleted but if you wanna see the post here's the link.
