I know this isn't the most appropriate place but it is the most popular community that might have an opinion so here I am..

The black nail polish I have kinda sucks. It starts to crack after a couple days and it's finished after a week. My wife's non-black polish lasts like 2 weeks or so and still looks great.

Any recommendations?

I have long loooooong ago given up on distro hopping because, at the end of the day, most distros are close enough to each other that it doesn't really matter which one you choose at the end of the day. These new immutable ones though.. They seem cool as hell. I need to give one a go someday.

"The cloud is just someone else's computers."

If that's what you really think the cloud is, still, then you are a dinosaur who is not evolving with the times.

I used to have that really common thought of "I don't care what you believe in. Just don't try to push your opinion on me."

No. It's bullshit.

The very existence of religion is a psychological drain on society. We are all worse off the longer it stays around. There is no such thing as a good religious person and anyone who says they are religious I immediately distrust.

I still don't really see the argument. OpenTofu exists because of internal drama about licensing on a tool that you don't use..

Someone building a different banana picker that looks just like another banana picker doesn't need to explain their reasoning in terms a coal miner would understand..

Also, literally just clicking the intro doc linked from the main page tells you everything you need to know..

If you're asking why aren't DevOps/SRE mentioned specifically on the OpenTofu front page, I don't think you understand how common this software is.. Like if someone forked Google, you wouldn't need to describe what Google is. Everyone already knows it. For the people in this industry, terraform is essentially a defacto monopoly. Even if you don't use it, if you're working in SRE, you know what it is and what it does.

Yeah this is just not for you. In the DevOps/SRE space, EVERYONE knows terraform and most of those names will be recognizable to the people most deeply involved in using/managing terraform.

Funny enough, I grew up saying "quarter of eight" to mean 19:45. It took until my mid-20s to realize its probably a regional thing because, after I left Philadelphia (my home city) and moved to Chicago, everyone thought I meant 20:15.

Watercolor.

Children play with $5 palettes. Apparently I pay $20 for a single color tube.

I was a kid when I last had it. Really uneventful. "Count backwards from 10" and you're out by 6.

My wife had it a few months ago to fix a deviated septum. Her native language is Turkish. When she came to she was only speaking English. The doctors couldn't understand her "but she seems fine." I told her she was speaking Chinese just to fuck with her a bit. "Oh no! We need to get a dictionary!" It was really strange.. She understood Turkish perfectly fine but was completely unable to speak it.

Other than some funny after effects, it was mostly a non-issue for her as well. She was fine after a couple hours.

I assume you're American? When you need to talk to people across borders you need something like WhatsApp. SMS doesn't cut it.

I'd rather use Signal but whatever.. I'm being practical. Everyone I know is on WhatsApp.

Are you sure this is the most efficient way to accomplish the goal?

Resilio Sync will just sync files to different locations automatically.. You don't need to worry about firewall rules or DNS/IP addresses doing this either..

I'm trying to move my org into a more gitops workflow. I was thinking a good way to do promotions between environments would be to auto sync based on PR label.

Thinking about it though, because you can apply the same label multiple times to different PRs, I can see situations where there would be conflicts. Like a PR is labeled "qa" so that its promoted to the qa env, automated testing is started, a different change is ready, the PR is labeled "qa", and it would sync overwriting the currently deployed version in qa. I obviously don't want this.

Is there a way to enforce only single instances of a label on a PR across a repository? Or maybe there is some kind a queue system out there that I'm not aware of?

I'm using github, argocd, and circleci.
