Similarly, nearly everything made by H-E-B / Central Market. Save for maybe one or two things where I’ve been disappointed, I like and even prefer their store brand for many things.

I just hate the dragging of the wire on anything that might be in the way. I go wireless for keyboard and mouse whenever possible.

Any good password manager nowadays also has an account takeover feature if you opt in. Basically your spouse / child / parent can take over your account to recover it for you if you can’t get in.

Sorry, it seems I misremembered, it seems the 5 does not have GPU video encoders:

Raspberry Pi 5 is not supported right now. It doesn't have GPU video encoders, therefore, there is no point in using it for PiKVM, it will not give any performance boost for this case. The Pi 5 is a great device, just not suitable for PiKVM.

I’m curious on how others are using the RPi 5 since (from what I understand) it doesn’t have a graphics card or something like that, leading to lower compatibility with some things like PiKVM.

I would assume it’s still perfectly fine for Home Assistant and the like.

As an engineer who is well off with a wife and a dog and a house, it was pretty much:

  • Work hard in high school
  • Hard enough to get a full ride to my state’s major public university
  • Choose an engineering degree that seems interesting enough
  • Turned out to be a great choice, motivated me to work hard enough to get a 4.0 through college
  • Had a few internships throughout college at various {industry} companies
  • Eventually managed to get hired out of college at the most prestigious {industry} company, working with people with much fancier colleges’ degrees, PhDs, MBAs, the like
  • Now I’ve been working there for {n} years, have taken multiple roles, have had field assignments, and I’m still loving it and learning every day / week
  • My wife (who I met in my degree program) has also had a great and fulfilling career as we’ve moved together around the country

The best thing about engineering, as proved out by both my wife and myself, is that you can get just about any job even tangentially related to your degree so long as you have the right work ethic, strong enough people skills, and you can pick up whatever skills you need on the job.

If we ever got bored or didn’t like the company (which has happened to my wife twice now), you can just switch companies or in my case switch roles in the (multinational) company and be doing something entirely new until you find what really clicks, be that company or role or both.

If you’ve never had a crying baby, you would not understand the lengths to which people are willing to go for some peaceful sleep.

Also, I know mom / friend groups where the Snoo just gets passed around from mom to mom as they have their children and everyone pays in to defray the cost considerably.

Not defending the subscription, but the Snoo not as stupid as you’re making it sound.

With the state of Amazon currently, I can’t tell what is good and what is crap on there anymore. So I wanted to ask you fine people if you had any recommendations on cappuccino mugs. Not super worried about cost, but also don’t want to break the bank for some mugs.

Any recommendations / thoughts appreciated!
