Thirdly not op. Prefer them over any of my other sock-tions.

Also also yes

Lurking for recipe. Don't mind me

I think this is the perfect response haha. Ppl find comfort where they can in the world, even if it looks a little whacky. So long as it's not hurting anyone, let them have their whacky

Okay so I forgot how big the sun is and had that absentminded mental picture moment of "oh it would make a big bang as something 3/4s the size of the sun would hit it"...

This picture was a very helpful reminder of just how out to lunch that thought was. Don't trust your absent thoughts, folks 😅

This falls in the list of things I didn't know I didn't want to know, but now know, and know I don't want to know. Oh no

This is a Canadian mining company that discovered it by partially finding a researcher to investigate. After about 8 years, their researchers literally said "we're forced to conclude that this was caused by the above."

The mining company was not happy, the CAD government put a moratorium on mining for further research, and now the company is paying to have other research completed cuz they "dispute his findings" 😂 I'll see if I can find the article

Edit: the article. https://www.cbc.ca/news/science/oxygen-ocean-study-conflict-1.7273929

Which means the "one spot between pissers" rule still applies

Chewed on the no politics at the Olympics comment for myself and I think where I landed was that the Olympics should be apolitical. I do think these countries should be punished for their actions, however, with the number and types of international destabilizing events increasing, I think this is a quick win for international cooperation. Something all humans can get behind. Doping obviously should be punished, but that's an athletic issue.

Obviously the precedent of excluding countries has been set, so there'd be vitriolic pushback, but I think it would be worth it to have one majorly public institution (read: in popular awareness) that doesn't judge, it just lets athletes compete.

Thoughts?

This is like the quietest room on earth. Built to stop sound as much as possible, apparently it's so quiet you can hear your heartbeat. I think I remember the average ppl can stand it is like 12 minutes

Edit: I was wrong about time (30 mins), but the longest is about an hour. See bottom of the article.
