This game's so good. I haven't been into RTS since AoE2/AoM back in the day, but BAR had me playing a bunch of games against the AI.

Just the scale, the amount of units you can have at once is impressive. And the game is pretty "simple" (no research trees, no complicated economies) so you can focus on the combat. Really nice experience overall.

You're talking like ow2 isn't literally the same game. I paid for ow1 and can't go back to it.

You're right, I'm projecting the bad vibes, I shouldn't do that. Uuuuh may I recommend The Legend of Vox Machina? It's based on dnd so pretty close to tolkien and it's a lot more goofy :3

I remember one time, back in the early 00s, when an American tourist asked me where to find a Burger King or a McDonalds, and I told him we didn't have those. He gave me an incredulous look.

Nowadays we have those, domino's pizza... At least we don't have taco bell, dunkin donuts or starbucks (afaik), but yeah, we're getting americanized :(

Because they don't want to write good characters and a story, they just want flashy action scenes and lots of references and jokes. You know, what Marvel popularized.

The point is saying games are "not realistic enough" is unproductive criticism, like saying "just fix it".

People like some realism in games. Look at how RDR2 was criticized for how tedious some things were. People liked the horse ball-jiggling physics realism, not the skinning or looting realism, because it slows the gameplay too much.

Still, there will be hardcore people that love realism to the point of controlling each individual joint like Toribash, but it becomes a battle of realism vs accessibility.
