Well, we're getting a peaceful shire simulator video game soon. Looks like animal Crossing with hobbits
Reskin Overcooked so you're a bunch of Hobbits getting food, beer, and pipeweed served to customers at The Green Dragon.
Then have a later level where you're Sauron and his minions trying to crank out magical rings of various sorts.
Because they don't want to write good characters and a story, they just want flashy action scenes and lots of references and jokes. You know, what Marvel popularized.
It was a joke I think. Not all of us want to constantly shit on everything, especially if it's literally just been teased and none of us can say if it's gonna be good or not
You're right, I'm projecting the bad vibes, I shouldn't do that. Uuuuh may I recommend The Legend of Vox Machina? It's based on dnd so pretty close to tolkien and it's a lot more goofy :3
They really underutilize the LOTR proper recently so it's good their doing something different with it. It could encourage more animated movies that could have really cool stories we haven't seen yet
Looks alright, looks like they'll nail the action scenes and artstyle. It does seem like it's an original story inspired by LotR, is that right?
Oh and, damn those YouTube comments are toxic. You can see YouTube sorts positive comments up, but as soon as you get to the replies that façade falls apart.
I think it is an original story set in Middle Earth. You can tell by the agency of the female protagonist that it's not a Tolkien plot/character 😅
It looks like it’s based on a story from the histories of middle-earth about the founding of Helm’s Deep.
They probably take a lot of creative liberties with the story, but it’s at least not entirely original.
Pro tip: don’t read YouTube comments even better to block them with uBlock Origin
Normally I use YouTube Enhancer with “Hide Comments” checked, I just opened this on my phone on the go where that isn't the case. I'll look into blocking them using uBlock on my phone!
YouTube comments hardly add anything anymore, they're usually so... Sanitised...
