No problem at all - and bullets are just a star and a space, then your text and then the two spaces at the end, and then repeat :-)

Southgate's mentality midget tactic of sitting back the moment they equalize is fucking egregious

There's a really interesting (if a little overblown) piece in The Guardian - basically arguing that England's entire failure can be attributed to (or at least embodied by) one throw in that Kyle Walker took not long after the equaliser. Instead of chucking it into the box, he threw it 40 yards back to Stones, who gave it back to keeper, and England didn't touch the ball in Spain's half again for about 15 minutes.

I think she wrote the pros and cons as a vertically stacked list, but formatting forces it into a paragraph, unless you add a double space at the end of the line.

So this:

Advantages of bras: Look nice (if you're into that look, which many people are) Keep your nipples from chafing Support/containment for larger boobs Keep prudish people from being mad at your nipples Can be worn without a shirt for sports if they cover enough real estate When breastfeeding, help catch/absorb leaks

Becomes this:

Advantages of bras:
Look nice (if you're into that look, which many people are)
Keep your nipples from chafing
Support/containment for larger boobs
Keep prudish people from being mad at your nipples
Can be worn without a shirt for sports if they cover enough real estate
When breastfeeding, help catch/absorb leaks

Or, with the addition of bullet points:

Advantages of bras:

  • Look nice (if you're into that look, which many people are)
  • Keep your nipples from chafing
  • Support/containment for larger boobs
  • Keep prudish people from being mad at your nipples
  • Can be worn without a shirt for sports if they cover enough real estate
  • When breastfeeding, help catch/absorb leaks

The API changes. I use Sync, and not being able to use Sync made Reddit more or less unusable for me on my phone. I also fundamentally disagreed with the direction Reddit was going. So, Lemmy it was, and it's great. And now there's Sync for Lemmy, which is even better!

They don't mind, as long as they can call you Betty.

"All" superlatives? ;-)

There used to be (probably still is) a subreddit called Tombstoning that has stuff like this. I wonder if there's a Lemmy equivalent. Will go look.

EDIT - sadly not as far as I can see.

Correction, most of those haircuts are awesome. The one in the middle... not so much :-)

Because it'll make look Trump look heroic?

That was my first thought too, because Trump is a horrible, vicious fuckwit, but now I'm not so sure.

The photographer's job is to document what happened, and this does that. On a purely aesthetic/journalistic level this is a hell of a photo. I don't think it'd be right to delete it just because of how it might get used later, or by whom.

I hate, hate, HATE that MAGAs will make this iconic, don't get me wrong. But the photographer captured a major news event, while literally under fire (albeit the shooting had just stopped) and I think that deserves respect and recognition.

Nice one, sounds like you're all over it 👍

Good luck!

Indeed, but this particular sub-thread started with an OP giving advice to older people, and is now older people responding to that comment. These aren't top level comments, so let the conversation go where it may.

Oh, gotcha 👍

I wasn't planning on making them public tbh, but we'll see 😁

More sad news, as Gene Parmesan/Colonel Mustard himself passes away. RIP Martin 😞

Sorry Norway. Our jammy win in Oslo robbed you of a chance to experience a major tournament. Instead, your place went to a badly organised rabble, with no urgency, no ambition and not even basic ball control.

You should have been in this tournament, and that disgraceful excuse for a Scotland team should have been languishing in 3rd or 4th. How in god's name did we beat Spain?

Sorry Norway, you deserved better.

Of limited interest, I'm sure, but I spent a bit of time working all this out, and wanted to post it before Scotland go 2 down after 5 minutes tomorrow and render it all moot...

So.

If Scotland lose to Hungary, we're out. No ifs, buts, or maybes.

If we draw then we need at least 2 out of 3 scenarios to happen in order to sneak through:

  • Spain beat Albania AND Italy beat Croatia
  • Turkey beat Czechia AND Portugal beat Georgia
  • Denmark beat Georgia AND England beat Slovenia by 5 or more (I think)

If Scotland win against Hungary then any 2 (or more) of these scenarios gets us through

  • Spain avoid defeat to Albania (Scotland would finish better than Albania and also better than one of Croatia or Italy, regardless of their result)

  • Netherlands beat Austria (Scotland would be ahead of both Austria and Poland)

  • England avoid defeat to Slovenia (Scotland would be ahead of Slovenia and also at least one of Denmark or Serbia).

  • There's also the possibility that Slovenia hammer England (Scotland could finish better than England on goal difference and also would be ahead of at least one of Denmark or Serbia)

  • Portugal avoid defeat to Georgia (Scotland would be ahead of Georgia and also ahead of one of Turkey or Czechia)

  • Even if Georgia did win, we could beat them on GD, but we'd have to thrash Hungary, so not likely.

  • No draws on match day 3 in group E. Doesn't matter who wins, as long as two teams do.

  • Or, if there are 1 or 2 draws in group E then it comes down to goal difference, so we would have to hammer Hungary, see above.

And yes, I made a spreadsheet to work all this out... :-)

Could have done without this. Not that I rate Dykes all that highly, but we're already thin on forwards. Someone wrap Shankland up in bubble wrap!

Example post: https://lemmy.world/post/14058825

I've no idea if this is technically possible at all, but on posts like the one above, where multiple images have been added, it would be really handy to be able to swipe between them as if they were in a gallery. At present it's a case of open one, close it, open the next, etc...

Same for comments, not sure if that would be different than posts.

Thanks :-)

How fucking great was that??

If you're going tomorrow night, you're in for a treat, what a set!

Great news! So glad to see the Filmhouse reopening :-)

Great news this, was such a shame to see the Filmhouse closed. So glad it's not been turned into a chain pub or something.

Let's go Niners!!!

Very sad news that AD regular (and of course, director of Scandalmakers), Carl Weathers, has left us. Hopefully he's already got a stew going up in heaven.

What a game!! Absolute insanity and some unbelievable goals.

Really enjoying Radio Lemmy, have had it on almost constantly :-)

After using the site a few times, I noted a few things that might be worth looking at - not meant as criticism, just some ideas.

Suggestions:

  • Freeze pagination tools of auto DJ library - would make it easier to navigate on mobile when scrolling down the song list. At the moment, when you scroll, you can't see the controls

  • Make the song request message popups (green for accept/red for reject) always appear onscreen as overlays instead of at a fixed point on the page - at present they're not visible when user is scrolled down, especially on mobile

  • Is there a way to filter the library by genre/artist? I can't seem to find it, apologies if I'm being dense.

  • It would be cool to be able to sort the library by date added - so we could see what new songs have been uploaded

Bugs:

  • When sending a song suggestion it refreshes the page, stopping the music stream. Any way to prevent that?
  • I noticed that some songs have duplicate info - eg Pulp - Disco 2000, Stromae - Alors On Danse, and possibly more
