Hullo yous out there on Lemmy, how are we all this week? Who's been off, who's been away? Anyone hit by IT today? Anyone getting anything done this weekend?

The numbers look bleak, but there are signs of progress. The number of learners is almost as many as fluent speakers. Would could see the central belt have more speakers and use than Na h-Eileanan an Iar in a generation, and no plan on how to deal with that is forthcoming. Kate Forbes (Ministear na Gàidhlig) here to show how parochial and insular she is, or look to the future I wonder? With next to FA cash available, it isn't easy, but some vision and leadership on this topic a test for the long touted future FM here imo

Hooray for Galloway! Now I need to go visit some more and see what I'm missing - other than coos

The scourge of the highlands. So many finding housing so costly up north, so difficult to enforce

Happy Friday to us all! Kick back, feet up, enjoy the sun

Politically cruel and a deeply unpopular policy. Red tories, and the mask slipping after failing to address this open goal in the King's speech yesterday

Devolution in action. Kinda surprised NI only 3rd on that list with their EU access

What an achievement at 13! How can he possibly top this?

Now with random posting times! Got to write a bot some day. Any plans? Anyone on their holidays yet?

Those poor creatures. May they now rest in peace

Any new village in the highlands a good thing imo. Where there is housing, work will follow, and Skye housing has been attrocious for decades

Big blow to the SNP, but not to Independence. This is 100% a fuck off Tories vote, next election was always going to be more telling. Holyrood 2026

First things first: bring your ID!

Polls are open, voting booths are setup, counts are being prepared, Ruth Davidson is peeking at your postal votes already, party campaigning is suspended, and the media are obsessed with dogs at polling stations.

And even if you think it's shit and pointless, remember your forebearers literally have died for your right to wield that pencil, cross that box, and chose. You can chose to spoil, you can chose a different government, in Scotland you can chose a real oposition, and in certain seats you can choose to believe in the ghost of Charles Kennedy. And Tories can choose to stay home, save lives, and protect the NHS.

Who's going early? Anyone got a queue? Any predictions for Scottish seats? (we're down to 57) Anyone know any candidates?

Pinch of salt with all this, anyone going to be staying up? Anyone doing a party?

And neither WM party want to raise taxes anywhere. Gonna get filthy in Edinburgh, ECC struggling with everything right now (guess who's in charge there!)

Scotland's shame on display here. High time hate marches are vastly curtailed

Fit like folks? The weekend beckons, schuil hols aboon, an Glastonbury oan the tellybox, ony plans?

Shambles is the word. Not enough printing capacity? Not enough IT staff to run the print job? Not enough posties to deliver or sort? This should surely have been known about 2 weeks ago! We're less than a week out now and anyone without a ballot in hand or in the post across the highlands and islands is now unlikely to have their votes count

Great to hear that Parkinsons sufferers can look forward to some respite

Sure thing, Cabinet member has no clue at all... Can't believe we don't get to see his face on election night getting 200 votes
