I have to disagree. Amenities such as benchs, and playgrounds can be place into the next street but there is a need to add important vegetation at least in some streets of dense urban environment to deal with heat wave and flood issues.
Not every tree essence grows as much as oak. I know some linden trees, older than I am, that were pruned properly one or twice a year and have kept a manageable size. I think hackberry tree don't get much thick with time and there essences of tree that are chosen to be put in the street because they don't grow that much in European climate.

Très intéressant. Je ne connaissais pas du tout cette histoire. Si je comprend bien l'article wikipédia, avant la lande il y avait une forêt de pin et maintenant la pinède a amélioré la qualité du sol mais ça n'est toujours pas terrible. Quelle est la différence entre la forêt de pin d’antan et celle d'aujourd'hui ?

This year has been remarkable for our efforts in admitting and caring for Barn Owls. Despite never having had any Barn Owls as patients, we've recently admitted four owls in the last few weeks. These majestic creatures were trapped in a silo and almost overlooked during the silage emptying process by a farmer. Each of them received a thorough examination and a sumptuous dinner to satisfy their large appetite. We collaborated with Dan Mummert, the PA Game Commission biologist for our area, to ensure the well- being of these magnificent birds. After being banded, they were successfully relocated to nest with other active and fledging owls, and they are currently being carefully monitored. These owls are thriving in their new safe environment, and are adapting well among fellow Barn Owls.

"Ixonia' Great Horned Owl update. We received numerous calls from concerned motorists about this very large female Great Horned Owl sitting motionless by the side of the road near the city of Ixonia BP Gas Station.
Thankfully, a dedicated worker from lxonia Utility safely contained her and assisted with transport. Ixonia is in very serious condition, as she was struck by a vehicle sustaining a significant concussion, a fractured wing, and is favoring her right side.
She spent the first 24 hours in Oxygen, and is now standing. Her prognosis is guarded, and recovery is long term.
We are currently experiencing another influx of patient admissions, including cases of West Nile virus, rodenticide poisoning, vehicle strikes, and illegal shooting. These cases demand extensive resources, including medical supplies, medication, substantial amounts of food, transportation, and more. ask for your support to consider making a donation via Paypal to help us continue our work.
