Biden was well known back in his Senate days for commuting from Delaware to DC on Amtrak.

Man I wish Marvel wouldn't pretend that show never existed. It's so fucking good, absolute mind fuck. And given the connection to X-Men, they could easily fold it in or at least make a one-off film or something.

Took me weeks to figure out a way to run a script at startup in a konsole window that gets hidden but continues running in the background. Tmux could do it but I found it cumbersome.

screen did the trick with a single command.

Jimmy Carter was/is a wonderful human being, but it seems most people would not consider him to be a good politician. Unfortunately.

Do you think it's possible that the price was forced to stay the same, and the difference is made up by using cheaper and lower quality food? You're assuming the quality and size of these lunches has remained the same and I have seen no evidence that suggests that's true.

They're limited by budget, and need to attempt to put together a menu for hundreds (if not thousands) of children with different, legitimate, nutritional needs. Every single day. It's an impossible task given the paltry amount they have to work with. The only way they could possibly do it while keeping the funding the same is by cheaping out on the quality of the ingredients.

No spoilers, but the very end of that series is absolutely insane. Up there with "Icarus" or "An Honest Liar" as great documentaries that end up having a completely unpredictable twist that changes the trajectory of the film completely.

Their cities do look clean af. The people there seem to have a higher baseline level of mutual respect than most Western nations. Unless you're a foreigner.

Japan is not a "Nazi country." If you meant "fascist," they're not exactly that either.

Extremely xenophobic and unfriendly to outsiders? Oh yeah. Nazis? The fuck are you talking about?

Because the left typically aren't autocratic. They want our agencies and services to actually work efficiently and provide the most they can for the highest number of people, rather than turning everything into a goddamn team sport.
