It's a real shame there's literally nothing else to be done to curb gun deaths in this country. Oh well, guess we tried.

/s not needed, I hope.

We're locking up those parents, right? At the very least we're locking up the one who was registered to own and safeguard that firearm, right?

Authorities do not suspect foul play, and investigators are trying to determine how the boy got ahold of the gun.

If you leave a gun you own unsecured such that a child gets it and kills themselves or others, it should be mandatory jail time. How much investigation is really needed here? Did a 5 year old spin the combination lock on a gun safe? Nope.

Supreme Court: the republicans can have a little voter suppression, as a treat.

Thanks - I love that video and I share it all the time. It gets across the whole idea of why Free (libre) software is important without preaching, and (as you point out) with a reminder that it wasn't always this way.

I realize that, but his objection is predicated on the "entire point" of a bun being to avoid greasy hands. I contend that is not the entire point, and that the brioche bun is not inferior with regard to the "entire point" of a bun.

It's an entirely different level of mess you'd get on your hands eating a burger without a bun vs with a brioche bun. And anyhow, how are you getting all the fixins to stay in place without a bun? THAT is the primary purpose of the bun, IMO.

One of those things has a chance of happening, the other does not. In theory I agree with you. In the case of police, QI will prevent that most of the time for civil suits. In the case of judges, they are judges...

AOC on deck.

Please, please let me have the chance to vote for her before old age takes me. Please!

Clearly not enough women are willing to stand up for their rights, frankly. How the hell is it only a 14 point lead? I get that's a big lead, but I'd expect an 80 point lead given what we know about Republicans/Trump and women's bodily autonomy.

Yep. Settlement payouts need to go through the roof until the apathetic or unaware take notice of what they are doing to their tax bill. It's the US after all, so impacting peoples' money is of course the only way we'll get any reform.

Sure, but anyone has the right to address who they want. (And as noted, have that pattern noticed...)

Stupidity doesn't adequately explain the number of times they have done this. I'm surprised it's even a headline anymore.

Each time the name of a new victim of police violence enters the public lexicon—Michael Brown, Sandra Bland, Eric Garner, Philando Castile, Breonna Taylor, George Floyd, and now Sonya Massey—there are questions about the officer’s response. How could that officer have mistaken a cellphone for a weapon? Why did that officer shoot someone who was running away? Did that officer really have to shoot so many times? One answer to all these questions is that officers are trained to see the world as threatening and to respond accordingly.
