five layers of tinfoil

That ought to give just enough protection from the liquid that turns frogs gay, at the very least.

The honest people were ran out of the organization or the country years ago - maybe through a window - until only parasites feeding off parasites remain.

The Infallibility Myth baffles me. What's that all about?

It's like they cranked up the marketing, cult-of-personality bullshit to see how high it could go... and it didn't have a limit, they were able to brainwash a lot of people with the most preposterous stuff, and they couldn't help themselves, they just HAD to make their head a demigod.

"Me perfect in paradise, you utter dogshit capitalist."
What is this, a first grader having a schoolyard fight?

Then there's Mao. Not quite a demigod, but not quite human either. His myth covering a much larger area and population, so they had to make the myth a little bit subtler. But not by much.

Why am I getting the sense that Angela Merkel made an enormous mess of Germany in the energy sector in so many different ways?

From sucking on the kremlin's pipeline, lowering Germany's guard to corrupt and corrupting russian influence, to negotiating the short end of Beijing's stick on renewables as stated in this article, I get this nagging sense of tepid myopia, of giving free reign to immediate corporate appetites and impulses, as if tomorrow wasn't coming soon to cash its' checks.

The more time passes, the more corrosively mediocre her legacy seems to become.

See here... corporations don't know what is best for them in five years, ten years, all they always care about is "Gimme more more MORE MORE...! Gimme now now NOW NOW...!", they have to be monitored and guided like impulsive children that might drink the goddamned bleach under the kitchen sink, they might start playing with matches and burn the whole goddamned house down.

Poetry needs more physicists who understand poetry, too!
In this case we end up with things getting called fun names like "quarks" instead of W- Boson and arid things like that.

If you drive down Baja California, with Ensenada behind you as you keep going due south, you will start encountering a few stands and roadside restaurants here and there that always seem to have crab burritos on the menu. Some of these are thick with meat, also all the usual finely-chopped vegetables found in shredded beef machaca common in northern Mexico cuisine.

When crabmeat burritos are on the menu, I know I'm south of Ensenada, near the boundary with that mythical, mystical, wild desert Baja. That sensation and flavor combo go hand-in-hand in me.

EDIT: these places also usually make some killer huevos rancheros, too, some places accompany them with side helping of chorizo made with abalone or sea-snail.

I feel like there's a bunch of parallel narratives to be unwoven here, and I'm hearing many of them at the same time.
My compliments to the meme chef.

The astroturfing is obscene on several levels of ignorance and artificiality, fake as the sincerity on a Nestlé ad, only more ignorant. "We don't and won't listen to a single Latino among us".

And still, I hear of Latinos gravitating towards this shit. It's like they've normalized living under bigoted oppression in places like Texas or Arizona, and/or fall for the "family values" catholic bias.

Or they come at it from some other batshit insane angle, referring to the orange plague of 2016-20 - "Funcionó! It worked!" and refusing to elaborate further, as if the case was obvious in some way that's utterly incomprehensible to me.

I think it's down to preference, as even the warm water Pacific lobster is the premium menu item on hotel and seafood restaurants in tourists towns in Mexico, and even in the United States west coast.

I've had the Pacific lobster many times, but only one time did I have the northern Atlantic one, and it is more meaty, but flavor-wise I did not detect a dramatic difference.

Granted, in the wrong hands, or if it's frozen, lobster doesn't taste like much of anything. I've made that mistake before, of ordering something like that in a random restaurant or a tourist trap.

But you know what I really prefer? A heap of Dungeness crab, cooked in butter, wine and garlic. Then add lemon. Yikes.
