Upon speaking with the island’s inhabitants, they soon discover the Marines had actually been massacred by a group of Lycanthropes, known to most as WEREWOLVES.

A feature documentary that traces the storied journey of Indigenous masks from the far reaches of Turtle Island into the hands of European Surrealists, influencing the work and worldview of artists and writers like Max Ernst, André Breton, Roberto Matta and Joan Miró – all while following the dramatic quest to return a mask that was brutally stolen from the Kwakwa̱ka̱ʼwakw people on Canada’s northwest coast over a century ago. Part caper, part road trip, part spiritual journey, the film follows Cree filmmaker Neil Diamond (Reel Injun) as he travels coast-to-coast and across the Atlantic and back, gradually piecing together this global story of influence, reconnection and restitution.

Original title (BG): Бо Нан За

A string of solitary figures grope their way through the sun-drenched wilderness. Misguided by hopes and driven by shadows, they silently fall into a creeping dependency. Some of these spectral characters coexist in a “nowadays” world of different limits. Embarking on a day and night quest through the desolate streets, they end up caught in a bizarre procession of personal rituals. Meanwhile, a dignified urban drifter explores and remaps the common roads of the sleeping city. The highs and lows of urban life might ultimately be transcended. A change of roles is about to come.

The finale really was setting up a sequel series lead by Coach Beard and Nathan. I’m guessing they made a pilot and it didn’t score as well, which makes me sad.

The 94-page Democratic Party platform that was voted on and passed on the first day of the DNC can be read here: https://democrats.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/08/FINAL-MASTER-PLATFORM.pdf

Jump to page 56 for references to LGBTQIA+ issues, including specific callouts about the challenges of transgender people, as well as committing to pass the Equality Act (which sought to amend the Civil Rights Act of 1964 to prohibit discrimination on the basis of sex, sexual orientation and gender identity in a variety of contexts).

I've learned to not rely on politicians to push for my civil liberties. Politics will not bring about our societal acceptance; it's the other way around. It's up to us and our allies to change the minds of the public at large, and then, as like magic, the will for politicians to grant us legal protections will appear.

Trotting out a bunch of nay-saying critics was already of fairly questionable taste to begin with. Having them be made up is just plain hilarious.

Also, the narration was pretty odd. I wonder if this was even intended to be released at all.

A video sponsored by a housing developer, suggesting that the real problem with the cost of housing is high taxes and the pesky nay-saying public.

They also never mention the high and increasing vacancy rate of newly built luxury housing. Just trust us! Rich people will move in soon!

Just across the border from Vancouver, the Seattle Housing Authority is rebuilding modern apartment complexes that are actually intended for low income, disabled and first-gen immigrant residents, not luxury condos that some theoretical rich person maybe might buy someday.
