Sure, you can probably DIY half your house but then it's going to be shit. I've learned from just maintaining a house that you better get professionals to the essentials. Especially when you expected your house to hold a few decades.

You can easily host your own instance with a simple docker stack.

I dont know of any public instances except the main but I also havent searched.

Menschen sind hier das schockierendste Problem, aber bei weitem nicht das Einzige: Es kommt wohl kaum eine Fahrt im ländlichen Raum zustande, in der nicht irgendein Wild zerteilt wird. Da muss bei größeren Tieren schonmal nach Schäden geguckt werden. Die Leitstelle muss dann auch informiert werden, damit die die Forstaufsicht informieren.

Klar kann man das alles irgendwie automatisieren, aber wir vergessen wie vielfältig und anpassungsfähig Menschen sein können.

I joined Bluesky in december. Many of my favourite artists even have accounts there. They just aren't that active. Same with Misskey.

The only problem I have with x alternatives currently (both Bluesky and Mastodon) is that my favourite r34 artists havent really switched plattforms :(
