Notably absent: ending gender transition care for all ages and erasing transgender people from existence under the law.

Sadly I don't know where to look for it right now.

But remember that kid on /r/Ireland who ranked all the hot chocolates in Galway? I hope he shows up here sometime.

it's closer to a cappuccino, really. If you can make good espresso (I mean, really good espresso) and are an old hand at the foamer, sure. Yes, it's a simple thing, like olive oil and bread, with a wide range of possible outcomes that still fit the general description.

Love this. I know just the place, and hard to believe I haven't been there yet. I wonder if they make a cortado

[–] jvw@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 points 3 days ago (2 children)

Yes, that's the one!

I think it's called the Iron Horse Cafe? On University near 280. Decor is just over the line to too modern for me, but it has the best cortado I've tried (out of about 20, in my spreadsheet phase)

No doubt... I'll be ready.

I love this idea!

I make aeropress at home, been my go-to for years. My taste in beans never really left the 90s though I do enjoy a fruity brew once in a while.

I know where the best dry cortado w/ oat-milk is in the Minneapolis - St Paul area.

A soft spot for a not-too-sweet miel.

Help me plan my "can't regret not doing that" coffee list?

Edit to answer some similar questions all at once: I'm not going to talk about my medical situation here, but yes, it was at the advice of a doctor. Decaf is a possibility, but I e been down that road before and it tastes like disappointment, even with today's improvements; maybe once in a while, though.

Public safety needs to be weighed against civil rights

Oooo a tankie!

. I don’t think women should be drugged because of a extreme fundamentalist a paranoid interpretation of privacy rights.

Oooo a straw man reducto ad absurdum argument!

Blocked. Buhbye🤖

If you have nothing to fear, etc etc...

You could also prevent a hostile employer from seeing you out with your same-sex partner by pretending you don't have one.

Or, keep your honey from finding out about your side piece by putting a mask on their head...

Ouch. I'm so sorry. Thank you for organizing to protect them! Courage.

The Great Race is better on pretty much every dimension than Airplane! – comedic timing, joke density, meme-ability, sound track, cringe-resistance… It’s just, better. It holds up better, too.

They are admittedly very different movies, both really well done. But TGR has absolutely epic production that’s not necessarily obvious on the surface. The big fist fight, for instance – the moment when Leslie stage dives is choreographed with so much detail, and most of the stunts in that shot are tossed aside like croutons, but absolutely make the scene.

Another thing is that TGR never winks at the camera, despite being pretty campy. That's a feat!

Last but not least: the best pie fight in screen history

The title is the post.

Really, you need to know: The Great Race is better on pretty much every dimension than Aeroplane -- comedic timing, joke density, meme-ability, sound track, cringe-resistance... It's just, better.

edit: "not work" as in "food, housing, and healthcare needs are met," not as in "billionaire super-villain money"

I would sail sail the great lakes for weeks at a time.

I would write more music, and hire musicians to play it with me.

I would spend half the summer growing food (which I already do!)

I would continue to invest in my own mental health, but spend more time meditating.

I have chronic fatigue (to simplify a longer story), and spending that precious energy solving logic puzzles for a paycheck is sometimes pretty demoralizing.
