it's about consent. asking people to volunteer is fine, but mandating it isn't. People have lives, kids, obligations, which might be worth more then two days of time in lieu.

That's just a bad way to run a company

  1. You indicate the dollar has inflated greatly

  2. You indicate XMR has maintained its $150 price point on average.

The direct implication of 1 and 2, is that XMR has inflated just as much as the dollar.

makes sense why make more laundry for yourself?

getting blood out would be a huge pain.

at $70 a game, that's $70 million dollars in revenue!

But I think the rumor mill has the games budget around 250m dollars.

Their break even point is 5.5 million units sold. Maybe when they release on steam

For some reason I'm still watching rings of power....

Can't look away? That battle scene...

Never thought I'd get to share this ... Super Sinia does lots of video blogs about her life, she spent many years on Diego Garcia!

Most people don't know what a phone app actually is.

That is 100% true

I don't see a cogent argument here. Valve is providing exactly what they say they are, money for a service, and very convenient too.

Valve doesn't prevent games from being sold elsewhere, they don't enforce exclusives.

This is like saying Costco is ripping me off because it won't stock coke if the price would be higher than sam's club.

From the YouTube channel of spaceman, 34k. A very thoughtful analysis of the magic behind the movie.

If freezing salt water produces freshwater ice, why is desalinization such a difficult problem?

I was watching the above minute physics video, and they indicated in a brief one sentence line that saltwater freezes into freshwater ice. That got me thinking.

Under what circumstances could you actually freeze salt into ice? To make salt ice?

The game got a lot of hate online, but I've generally found when a game is hated on, there's usually something more. So I decided to actually play the game. I'm 5 hours in

Honestly I like it, for telltale like walking simulator, it sets up the story pretty well, it has some nice sci-fi beats. It's good for what it is. It isn't anything it promises not to be. I think it's a good game, I'd recommend waiting until it goes on sale for $10 maybe. At that price point it's about the cost of a movie and That's where I put it in terms of value pricing.

I've recently rewatched game of thrones seasons 1 through 6.

What is your favorite moment? Memory? Plot? From the original game of thrones?

So I have to admit, I was cautiously optimistic about this one. The trailer promised a stripped down, back to basics approach to the Alien franchise, with a fresh new cast and a talented horror director at the helm. But does it live up to the promise?

A four season TV show, focusing on the inexplicable births of super powered children, and the family they make along the way.

Some communities, like fark, let you annotate users that you interact with so that when you interact with them in the future have an idea about the previous context with them.

I think that would be a good feature for lemmy, able to add a note/nick name that displays any time you see a comment or post by that user
