We absolutely test code in production all the time. We test it as much as we can in test environments, but users, like real life, have a knack of doing things we just don’t expect. Phoenix and SF are effectively the limited beta test for Waymo. It has to be real world tested at some point. No test environment will ever fully mimic production.

I think they react to each other the same as they react to human driven cars, ie there’s no programming of “that cars another Waymo so treat it differently” it seems like one of them sees “that car is about to back in to me” so it executes “friendly honk so they don’t hit me”. When maybe there should be a “it’s another robot, so just trust them” check in the logic, especially when it’s the middle of the night.

Why is there a bear in the garage? Why is someone willing to be in such close quarters to it instead of getting rid of it? Why would you brush a bear? Like is there a bear show they’re entering it into? Why is the bear casually playing with a floor jack during the process, unless that’s just like its favorite hot wheels car or something?

I get that I do not live in a place with bears, so my experiences don’t amount to much, but all I see in this video flies in the face of all wisdom I’ve ever heard about how to interact with bears.

He kinda has to. No political career for him after this if Trump doesn’t win. Best he’ll be able to do is some appearances, but he’ll fade fast. It was a high risk high reward gamble to be Trump’s running mate. Hopefully won’t pay off for him.

I thought Sokka and Katara’s last name was “of the southern water tribe”. That’s how he introduced himself a few times anyway.

My mom did tattoo makeup the last several years of her life. They use much finer needles than regular tattoos, which she had a few of as well. She said it wasn’t that bad and worth no longer having makeup in her routine.

Old millennial with a middle schooler, so I learn enough to screw with them. If you have rizz, you’ve got charisma, if you are rizzing, you’re using charisma to flirt. Skibidi I’m guessing on, but it’s something that’s just generally whack, to use our own generations slang. Ohio is not one I’ve heard, but I’m guessing just a metaphor for a general state of pathetic, just like the state itself.

Holy hell, I swear people who write opinion pieces like this have no idea what a mountain is.

It takes about 30 Watts to move a gallon of water up one meter. Start running the numbers on what it would take to move water from the Great Lakes (500 ish feet ) over the Rocky Mountains and you should quickly realize how terrible this idea is.

Same calculations should be used to determine that farming at 1-2 thousand feet in elevation makes desalination a bad choice as well. But desalination can be used for all the people living near the coast and allow farms to use more of the water at the higher elevations.

In this case it’s risky, but there’s a weird but good feeling just being in a place that was once active but is now abandoned. In a closed mall or office at night is a taste of it. It’s hard to describe, but I absolutely get why people want to experience modern ghost towns.

Originally in my list then dropped because when I’ve offered this counter in the past I’ve had people argue that was originally a name. Regina and Reginald should have been in my list as well.

Do you think maybe it’s just the fictional version for all the people that named their children Earl, Princess, Queen, Duke, or any of the other titles that became names?

While this is well drawn, there aren’t escape pods. And the front between the “mandibles” is not a loading door. Factory spec has a lifeboat between the mandibles that we saw destroyed in the Solo movie. This was also mentioned a lot in books.

It’s hard to stay on top of what’s canonical these days, so my info may have been overwritten by more recent canon.
