It would be really cool if instead of having to install more app stores, the App Store app was like fdroid: a front end in which we add repositories. There would of course be apples repository installed as default, but on top you could just enable epic game's repository or the store's repo.

Awesome, I've found it to be the best terminal app for gnome. It has a bunch of themes bundled, the performance is great thanks to VTE and it has first class support for connecting directly inside containers including docker and podman

Jmp.chat + gnome calls with SIP worked really well when I tried it. You could also try VoIP.ms and see if they have a SIP option

For sms jmp.chat uses Xmpp so any client should work. Xmpp clients can also do calls but they are not meant for phone number calls, though there are ways with JMP.chat/cheogram

Hijack the power cable and solder it to a battery while you move it

For a team of 20 people matrix is way overkill imo

Good question, I will check after work if steam starts in the background or something, I've had some issues with steam in the past so what you're saying could make sense...

We might pay some of the most expensive internet in the world in Canada but at least we can't fault them for providing an unstable or unperformqnt service. Download llama models is where 1gbps really shines, you see a 7GB model? It's done before you are even back from the toilet. Crazy times.

I had this theory since I got some new usb periphs relatuvelu recently, but that was not the issue

I think it's crazy that not that long ago 30mbps was still pretty good, we now have 1gbps+ at residential addresses and it fairly common too

Good point, fedora is usually a bit slower on updates than arch/manjaro, maybe an update will fix it. Thx!

Hello all, for a few weeks/months now, my computer has stopped going into suspend mode. Here is what happens when putting it to sleep (using GNOME's power menu) or using systemctl suspend:

  1. Display turns off, peripherals turn off (keyboard lights off etc), fans spin up before sleep as usual
  2. Fans go back to idle speed, computer stays on
  3. Have to press the keyboard, wake the display up and go in the power menu again to suspend it (from the lock screen), and it works every time like this.

I have no idea what could be preventing suspend and what I could find online did not really help a lot. I don't think it is a USB device because I tried unplugging most of them except my mouse or my keyboard and it still did not work, and the second time on the lock screen it always suspends like intended

  • Distro: Fedora 40
  • DE: Gnome 46
  • GPU: NVIDIA GTX 1080Ti (Wayland)
  • CPU: Intel 10850K
  • MB: Gigabyte Z590 Gaming X (everything is up to date)

thx !

I just got the update on my phone on Google play, Firefox now supports 3rd party password managers for passkeys (on android 14+). Just tried it, and I got prompted with my 3rd party password manager, so it works!

Why is my hair smooth and soft compared to the other hairs?

UPDATE IN COMMENTS!!

Hey there, I don't know if any of you noticed something similar recently, but I have noticed my cursors have gone HUGE, like 2x what it should be at least. I think this is related to the affected apps using a beta version of Libadwaita 1.6, but I just wanted to confirm here before I create an issue in the repo. I use 200% scaling, GNOME 45, Fedora 39. Does anybody else have this problem? Thanks!!

How it should look (in Pods, firefox and most other apps)

How it looks in Ptyxis

How it looks in Adwaita Demo (latest update, which bumped the libadwaita version to 1.6)
