Then I rewatched “The Way of the Warrior” and during the drills they explicitly say they are in the Jefferies Tubes and you can see people standing upright. So I guess there are starships that you can stand inside.
Unrelated: why does a Cardassian station have crawlways we are calling Jefferies Tubes? That seem to be a Federation thing.
