Over the past few elections, it's been a tradition for the Conservative party leader to get kicked to the curb after failing to unseat the Liberals. I don't see why PP should be any different.

This is likely going to lead to the Conservatives splitting between the reformers and the moderates once more

It should, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

I think the party splitting back into its Progressive Conservative and Reform components is long overdue. PCs might've held their noses and agreed to a merge for the sake of defeating the Liberals, but since then they've sat passively allowing the extreme regressives to take the reins.

A reasonable person might assume PP losing his riding might be a sign that people think a demagogue mini-Trump who blames everything he dislikes on "wokeness" is a very unserious person who isn't fit to lead a party, but the Conservative Party seems to be very lacking in reasonable people...

Congressman Shri Thanedar (MI-13)

MI-13? That's almost MS-13! Bake him away toys!

“The arrest of Bishop Barber feels like the most clear example of hypocrisy of the Trump administration when they talk about anti-Christian bias,” Raushenbush said. “They are not interested in the broad expression of faith as exemplified by Bishop Barber, but rather only Christians approved of by the Trump administration.”

White Christian nationalism.

If Jesus came to America today, he'd be crucified by those claiming to follow him...

Fuckin' seriously. I don't know how anyone could look at that and think he's at all in touch with the common working person.

Honestly, if they drop him into my riding to replace Garnett Genuis, I'd consider it an upgrade.

Not a significant one, mind you, but still a marginal improvement.

Biggest shame here is that, after a mere two decade career during which he accomplished almost nothing, he'll collect a pension of over $200k per year.

Hopefully this will signal to the Conservatives that Canadians don't have any use for a demagogue who attributes the world's ills to "wokeness," but I'm not holding my breath.

Yes to both. Also, Tiktok, Joe Rogan, and Jordan Peterson for the younger ones, and every newspaper being part of the American owned right wing Postmedia behemoth for the olds who still read the paper.
