Not one of his better articles. A lot of prevaricating with very little substance or conclusions. While AI investment is most certainly a bubble, few are taking into account the technology improving. This is a bone the tech dogs aren't going to give up easily. They have a whiff of the possibility of AIG becoming a reality. Like all promising tech, the potential for long term damage is as, if not more so, catastrophic for society as the World Wide Web and social media. He's looking at this as an echo of past Silicone Valley bubbles. It so much more than that.

Having played Kerbal Space Program, orbital mechanics and ballistics make that diameter a lot smaller than one might anticipate. It's pretty easy to fuck up.

Exactly. This neo-liberal drive to constantly grow grow grow is insanity. China produces a lot of low quality shit that goes straight into landfills, simply for the sake of producing. Productivity means nothing.

Oh look, another Linux user whining about a binary distribution method they don't like. If you don't like Appimages, don't use them.

I created an account just to answer this. They can short. We had a string of these, and it shorted and nearly caught the tinsel on fire. They weren't man-handled, in fact we were extra-careful with them, because they were so thin and fragile-looking. These are dangerous. Do not use them.
