Given the fact that that poem is 100 years old, I would have thought that English would have evolved to fix these issues by now. Oh well.

We need a new language I guess. Maybe it's time to switch to the most popular language in the world (in terms of number of native speakers): Mandarin Chinese.

And yet people always want to upgrade to the latest one.

Definitely a possibility! It'll be interesting to see what happens.

It probably accepts other key types and it's just the UI that's outdated. I doubt they're using an SSH implementation other than Dropbear or OpenSSH, and both support ed25519.

Yeah, definitely. I just wanted to clarify since it's a common point of confusion even for people that are currently on visas. My wife and I got a green card a few years ago so I'm glad I don't have to deal with visas any more.

Southwest are moving to assigned seating next year. I hope they still keep an orderly boarding process where everyone has a number. Maybe they'll start boarding special people first, then from back to front.

illegally in the US after one of her visas expired.

Just to clarify: A visa just determines the time period when you can enter the USA. How long you can stay in the USA is determined by the I-94 (a form that's issued upon arrival), not the visa.

It's possible for the I-94 expiration date to be later than the visa expiration date, which means you can still stay in the USA after the visa expires (until the I-94 expires), but you just won't be able to leave and re-enter without renewing the visa.

California already has a law like this, so the companies have already implemented this workflow. They just need to remove the geogating.

If you have anything like a 9-5, you're probably getting around 10-20%.

My wife works as an associate attorney (a lawyer that's not a partner, meaning they don't own the company they work for) and I think she makes maybe 1/4 of what the company bills clients for her time. Of course, some of the money would go towards things like property taxes for the office, bills, etc.

And that's not as bad as someone working in big tech who may make a decent salary (senior developer at Google or Meta is around $270k/year salary plus $300k/year stock) but the company may make hundreds of millions of dollars per year from your work.
