I have no qualms getting a brain chip implanted that's been properly tested and vetted, especially if it enables me to do cool stuff.

But I want fucking touch one that Mushk has been anywhere near

"Frozen Army Base" ain't got nothing on the KND Arctic Base!

Hm, sounds like a lot of work.

Thanks but I'll just stick with my current wake up with just 20 minutes to be at work and artificially make myself feel better with coffee and/or energy drinks LMAO

DeSantis: write that down! WRITE THAT DOWN!

Lol, a couple times I commented whenever this came up that it was probably pointless deleting like this with the random words and what not because reddit was likely doing some form of versioning or backups of at least the text based content. Especially since said content was/is under inflated executive value because "AI"

I got downvoted routinely because "ThAT WoULd Be Too ExPeNsiVe anD CoMpLiCatED, no WaY thEY dOiN tHaT"...if what you say is true with the true random words and everything, then I was right and they're doing exactly what I thought they'd do lol

If they're mass restoring stuff, they're probably chugging through in batches, betcha if you check in a couple weeks there will be more

Well it was more like a temporary duct tape, but I "installed" a copy of Ubuntu in RAM from the running Ubuntu system so that I could "boot" (pivot_root) into it without restarting it

All because I didn't want to wait on a ticket for my dedicated server provider to hook in a KVM LOL

(See my meme post I posted to c/linuxmemes a few weeks back for more info)

Kinda sad tbh, it gets a tiny sliver of personality and they train it away :(

I've seen that theory a lot, but I just don't think it's actually all that common. Layoffs are layoffs, but the common thing about layoffs is they are usually calculated to cut the worst performing employees and go up from there.

A forced RTO policy is going to be unpredictable in who stays and who goes

Someone somewhere in Russia: Runs out to buy 20 more cameras for multiple angles

For something that I had to import from Germany because the RGB version wasn't being sold in the states at the time and was supposedly supposed to die within <2 years because the RGB made it run too hot, it lasted 5 years and 72 TBs written before a random power outage took it down. Even then, it was still able to allow me to dd it to another drive without issue

RIP :(

It was also actually pretty fun!

I've been on the fence on the Fold 2 ever since the aspect ratios/screen sizes were revealed.

On one hand, I really like the 0G folds short but wide passport form factor, it's the second biggest reason I held off getting one of those really narrow Galaxy Folds (biggest being, it's still a SamSuck lol) and the Fold 2s upcoming changes means the unfolded form is going to be pretty much a square

But on the other hand, I think it would be better for one of the biggest uses I use my Fold unfolded for: Remoting into various desktops, since the Fold 2 will be more like 2 8/9 regular pros next to each other it should allow for a bit better "widescreen" when rotated (I like to have the desktop screen on the top and the OSK on the bottom "laptop style") and even though it's a square it should be bigger overall

What are your guys thoughts on the Fold 2? Are you upgrading or waiting and seeing what the Fold 3 will look like (and the TSMC 3nm Tensor)

The tree is an adjoining neighbors backyard with large branches that come pretty close to my house (Though there is a sizable gap, if it comes down under the wrong wind direction...) and are actually touching another neighbors roof.

If it is unhealthy, is it recoverable? I'd rather not have them cut the whole thing down (it provides a lot of shade for my backyard (well, when it's healthy that is lmao)) Should I talk with them directly (I don't really know them, at all) or let the city know?

With Google Workspace cracking down on storage (Been using them for unlimited storage for years now) I was lucky to get a limit of 300TBs, but now I have to actually watch what gets stored lol

A good portion is uh "Linux ISOs", but the rest is very seldom (In many cases last access was years ago) accessed files that I think would be perfect for tape archival. Things like byte-to-byte drive images and old backups. I figure these would be a good candidate for tape and estimate this portion would be about 100TBs or more

But I've never done tape before, so I'm looking for some purchasing advice and such. I seen from some of my research that I should target picking up an LTO8 drive as it's compatible with LTO9 for when they come down in price.

And then it spiraled from there with discussions on library tape drives that are cheaper but need modifications and all sorts of things

I like to let Spotify leave my playlist and just have it play whatever so I can add new songs to my playlist.

But from time to time it'll play songs from some religious band (Usually Christian rock or Christian rap or something). The annoying part is it'll sound pretty good, until I start paying attention to the lyrics and then I realize it's a propaganda song lol and have to block the artist and move on.

Anybody know of a good list of religious artists on Spotify so I can write a script to block them ahead of time? (Or even better an existing FOSS project to do just that lol)
