Sure, but could any of those military guys actually get a presidential medal of freedom? Not a purple heart or anything that Trump has suggested is dumb, but a real award for winners like the presidential medal of freedom.

(opinions about these awards are from Donald Trump, on the record. /s from me.)

That's just a by-product of how Steam works. Playtime is counted as long as the Play button says "Stop".

For games without DRM (e.g. KSP), you can launch it from the Steam install folder without Steam running. Everything works perfectly but your playtime won't be counted for the same reason.

I got plenty of flak for suggesting Joe needed to go. The thing is, Kamala isn't a perfect candidate either but holy hell the (perceived) difference in voter attitudes is absolutely palpable. With Joe we'd have had people voting Trump just to avoid falling asleep (not supporting that at all, but the average voter operates on extremely simple heuristics).

I'd say less stupid and more shortsighted. If the cost of DVDs were to have stayed high for, say, 10+ years, then I could see getting a user base for DIVX and having at least moderate success.

But a giant tech retailer of all things should be aware that new tech tends not to stay prohibitively expensive for too long.

The amount of corporate control that has slowly and insidiously crept into our lives will never cease to amaze me.

This. It is so shocking that they just get used as a harder ID than actual ID. Someone didn't get the memo. And by "someone", I mean corporations who haven't had real consequences in 50 years.

Now THAT is bad PR. Wow. Going to be hard to top it.

How about we stop treating for-profit tech products like utilities?

How absolutely terrifying. I can't imagine getting my basic human rights without some rich asshole denying them while taking my money to buy another yacht.

I appreciate that. I probably should have put a /s tag on it.

The "innovation" side of needing endless growth. Endless changes for the sake of making changes.
