If you dig deep enough into the internet you'll find people who have been complaining about Microsoft since the dos days, and many of their complaints and fears have come true.

Asshole, unfortunately.

You still pay taxes on that as well. It's just the taxes are also spread out over the full time payout.

If you take the cash option you'll get about 50% of the total and then have to pay taxes on that, which federally will be something like 35% of what's left, for a total of ~67.5% off the top.

A good rule of thumb if you're considering how much you would walk away with in America is to assume that before state taxes you would get about a third of whatever number is listed.

For instance right now it's like 550 million, you would walk home with about 190 million after taxes before state taxes.

Your state will probably take another 15% of the total if your state charges state taxes, so if you live in a state tax state you would walk home with about 137.5 million, or a touch over 25% of the original total.

Of course, your mileage may vary and you may have access to tax benefits that I am not aware of.

If you end up winning a large lottery in America I highly recommend that you speak to a qualified financial planner and tax professional and not just trust some asshole on the internet.

Yeah that one happened in my early teens, and so a part of me is glad I didn't because I definitely wasn't mature enough for that level of instant relationship and if it had not turned into a relationship I would have been completely destroyed, but there's another part of me that all these years later still regrets.

There's a vast difference between a straight up no and opening a dialogue.

If I ask a girl out and she says sorry I have a boyfriend or sorry you're not my type or no thank you I'm just going to move on.

It's no skin off my back, thank you for letting me know before I waste of my time.

I just wish I had this same level of confidence in my teenage years as I do now.

Like you miss all of the shots that you don't take and I missed so many fucking shots.

I even had one girl laying on the bed next to me telling me about how she's had sex before and would like to try having sex again and I was like "well good luck with that, I mean, you're really pretty so you're probably not going to have any problems"

Yes you can sell your debt as a consumer. People do it all of the time.

However, the terminology is different.

We call it "taking out a loan".

I'm taking a nihilistic approach to it.

I turn off the lights when I leave a room. I'm conscientious about my water usage. I recycle.

When I find that a company is a mass polluter, I do everything in my power to not give them any of my money.

I'm doing my part.

The fact is every human being on the planet in their own personal circle could go carbon neutral and climate change would still happen because it is industrial processes and commercial shipping that are driving the great majority of carbon and methane release in the atmosphere.

It's not anything that you or I are doing, or rather, in the scheme of things what we are doing is negligible, easily absorbed by the natural cleaning processes of the planet like trees and algae and rain and time.

Our current system has incentivized pollution. There's no amount of personal choice that we as individuals can take to stop it.

What we need are politicians who acknowledge the issue and who override the objections of the vocal minority to fix them even at deleterious costs to the economy.

After all, can't have an economy when the world is dead.

I remember reading an article about it and they played Totoro first, and then found that people would leave the theater and not watch the second movie.

For some reason I'm fucked in the head and I can't cry, I watched that movie hoping it would punch through and instead it set like a 75 lb Stone directly on top of my heart for me to carry around for 3 weeks until I managed to process it.

Gorgeous movie. I highly recommend everyone watch it. I'm not going to go through that again.

Have you tried turning it off and on again?

I kind of agree that Chris Pratt was not the worst Mario voice actor choice.

However, knowing that the actual voice of Mario is a good and upstanding guy and would have been glad to do it ruined the whole thing for me. Why not let the man have his time in the limelight? What's wrong with nintendo?

Actually, don't answer that there's a lot of fucking things wrong with Nintendo. We don't need to rehash all of their flaws right now.

Fuckin magnets man

We'll just all assume that every person who gets this would make themselves early twenties with flawless skin, perfect organs, appendages and functionality, and no excess weight.

My question is, would you change yourself from your genetic baseline, and if so, how?
