Unions are a way to resolve long term labor disputes without large scale vandalism and homicide, because throughout history angry desperate men have always done desperate things. It's a lesson usually learned the hard way.

And with the way things are moving that won't be in the first 5 years.

Yep. that's the classic shitty business model

  • Make a site that's attractive to use for a lot of people

  • Once you have enough people, lock in the users with network effect, walled garden, etc

  • Use the users to draw in businesses

  • Lock in the businesses and squeeze them for profit.

  • Squeeze users and businesses for money, abandon any maintenance and improvement on the site except for monetization.

A strike with tech workers would be something else. Curious what would happen if the one maintaining the servers for entertainment, stock market or factories would just walk out. On the other hand, tech doesn't have unions.

Soon parkings need to have dedicated spots in the back and signs for oversized cars. Some already have spots for cars with trailers and large vans.

And by that time, processors and open source AI are good enough that any noob can ask his phone to generate a new app from scratch. You'd only need big corpo for cloud storage and then only when distributed systems written by AI don't work.

They'll try the opposite. It's what the movie producers did to the writers. They gave them AI generated junk and told them to fix it. It was basically rewriting the whole thing but because now it was "just touching up an existing script" it was half price.

And because all the theft and malfunctions, the nearby supermarkets replaced the self checkout by normal cashiers again.

If it's AI doing all the work, the responsibility goes to the remaining humans. They'll be interesting lawsuits even there's the inevitable bug that the AI itself can't figure out.

It's not stupid. It's just the bastard child of Germany, Dutch, French, Celtic and Scandinavian and tries to pretend this mix of influences is cool and normal.

It's hateporn addicts blaming someone else for being addicted to something.

I've seen a clip about that. Many hulls are styrofoam with fiberglass. It's cheap, looks good, but doesn't do well with collisions and bad weather. If that's the case here is to be determined.
