Games I enjoyed playing with my then-gilfriend:

  • Castle Crashers. 2.5D side scrolling action
  • Skyrim Together, although this requires at least one of you to have a decent level of understanding to get things to work smoothly
  • ibb & obb, puzzle
  • Portal 2, puzzle
  • Shadow Puppeteer, puzzle

It's what google translating the Catalan "acaronar a la Fada" gets you. I don't speak Catalan (or even any other language of Spain), so I can't really offer a proper explanation, but the capitalised "la Fada" in the original post suggests to me that it might be a reference to the folktale La Fada Morgana or some other cultural touchstone

"correct horse battery staple" remains firm in my memory

It might just be that there are few tanks in the places that Ukraine is advancing right now. Those Russian troops being less equipped than the ones on the frontline at Dontesk and such would explain both low tank losses and Ukraine's successful advance

Fair enough on Elden Ring actually, I looked up the sales numbers and it did do very well for any videogame rather than "just" very well for a FromSoft game as I had thought

I don't think that should be terribly surprising. Both those games are targeted at specific niches. They were notably successful for gaining popularity beyond their niches, but they were still niche products. Elden Ring is still incredibly obtuse and will fucking murder you out the gates and just expect you to pick yourself up and try again. BG3 is a D&D game that expects you to know the tabletop version to a degree. Both are awesome, but they're aimed at narrower markets

It is working for me, at least. The spoilered text is a good summary of the idea too

The clip, shot from inside the jet’s cockpit, looks to show the pilot utilizing a toss bomb technique, which is exactly how the rocket-boosted munitions were designed to be used.

Apparently these things have two guidance systems in them - one GPS, one inertial - and are intended to be flung over terrain to reduce the chances of the aircraft getting seen by defences

Oh hey my dad's in a comic. I love him, but dear lord dad sometimes things that are technically possible to profit from are just things you do for the love of doing them

This feels like a very foolish move. I do not know the relevant law at all, but surely it's some kind of illegal to falsely use someone's face to claim their political endorsement? And it's not like Taylor Swift is somehow lacking in either the financial clout to sue over it or the PR clout to turn it around

If this fucking walloper wants to ruin his own campaign then that's more than fine by me. I'm just surprised by what seems like such an obviously poor move

HAVEN'T THESE PEOPLE EVER READ A BOOK FOR FUCKS SAKES

Uhh, yeah, and that's how they know that the best magic swords are in tombs. Where else would you go looking for them?

Honestly it don't think it matters much if they hold it in the long run. Ukraine isn't likely to be trying to annex it, and it forces Russia to divert resources from other fronts to handle it. If Ukraine can make retaking it very costly then even if Russia succeeds, Russia has had to spend a whole bunch of lives and materiel to gain literally zero Ukrainian land
