It might just be that there are few tanks in the places that Ukraine is advancing right now. Those Russian troops being less equipped than the ones on the frontline at Dontesk and such would explain both low tank losses and Ukraine's successful advance

That sounds plausible, but I don't think so, it's been very obvious for more than a month now that tank losses have declined dramatically compared to half a year ago. But the other losses have not.
If what you say were true, why is Artillery almost 3 times higher? Vehicles and fuel tank almost 4 times higher? And personel about twice the average for the war!
That would be a very weird distribution of only the tanks, if what you say is true.

Tank losses declined seriously half a year ago. It isn't clear if Russia is running out of tanks, or has finally figured out how to use tanks without losing them. (most think it is the former - they have run out of old tanks that can be restored quickly - but it isn't clear)
