Oh, i understood your way of doing it as a service that checks a list (remote or local) if this is an instance, where the list needs to be updated regulary, thats why i wanted a flag that tells the service "Hey, i am a Lemmy instance!" when it checks every link before opening.

But yes, your implementation would be a future proof idea that would work like a charm!

I dont really know how HTTP Requests work but wouldnt it be possible fo Jerboa to open all Links with an in app Browser and checking for a lemmy flag in this request? I imagine it can be janky if the in app browser first opens a new window and falls right back to the app but if this is possible, there would be no need to have a never complete list since everey instance will have this flag.

Sorry if i wrote nonsense, just an idea

For me it's still Vanced/ReVanced. Many optios and the default YouTube Overlay, that i really like. Never got warm with other 3rd Party YouTube apps.

As far as i'm concerned, this has already been fixed by a contributor (or soon to be contributor) and is hopefully being added in the next version.

Yeah that makes sense, my font color in the status bar ist white and i use an amoled black theme, therefore i don't see this bug.

You can open an Issue on Github if it's not already done so it can be fixed sooner or later.

What Version of Android are you using?

I'm using Android 13 on a Samsung Galaxy S20 with OneUI 5.1 and i always see the status bar when using Jerboa.

Hey fellow Lemmy Users!

As far as i can tell, instance blocking is good for not destroying the All feed but what bugs me is that it seems like i am not able to subscribe to communities of blocked instances. I know that the big instances will try not to "abuse" this "power" for censoring the endusers choice but i think having this option is not good. I dont know if its possible with ActivityPub to limit connections between instances or if it always needs to be a true/false thing.

There could be different stages of blocking:

  • Users from instance x are blocked on our instance / our Users are not affected if they want to interact with instance x

  • Post from instance x are blocked in our All feed but our users can still access the instance

  • Full block, just like it is now

If i'm completely wrong about blocking, sorry for wasting your time. Tell me what you think about this!

This please, that would be just like my go to Reddit app, Relay, did it!

Is there a way to make it optional to switch between your comment click handling? I really like how the current app handles collapsing by clicking on the comment and i believe that there will be many users that prefer your option as well. I think this app will flourish with more options in the look and feel area.

Dwarf Fortress of course. Other good mentions are Factorio and Rimworld, if you understand them and are done with it, install a couple hundred mods and have a whole different game!

I like to use good ol' stable Debian with i3-gaps as a window manager.

These changes look very promising, especially the comment collapsing change. Keep up the good work, all contributors!
