This is so sad lol

German here, no certs aswell

I got in to IT by just writing on my CV what I know I can do and what I learned in my free time.

Some company interviewed me, I could convince them that I really know a lot of stuff and that got me in.

Ever since then all I had where the companies I worked at and that was sufficient

Never said it's a high crime

Maybe bring it to a vet then? Also, why does your cat have a touchscreen in the first place?

PS: this will look stupid once you correct your post

Borgmatic auf meine NAS

https://www.truenas.com/docs/scale/22.12/scaletutorials/apps/docker/#adding-custom-applications

Scrolling down should show you the different screenshots. Point 6. of the list should show the "Storage" Tab where you have the "Host Path Volumes"

That should enable you to link a path on your host to a path on your docker container.

For example Host: /mnt/mediashare/audiobooks Container: /media/audiobooks

Then the people should switch over the communities to another instance then

We don't either

Yes and no

If one of our users report something on lemmy.world for example we can remove it for all our users.

So yes, the post still exists but from the perspective of our instance it's removed.

We all are pretty annoyed at how the printer industry is screwing customers over. There are a few printers that are really good but most of them suck and try to suck out your money by demanding ink when none is needed.

And i also know that it's nearly impossible to create an open-source printer that can be build by smaller businesses like the 3D printing space can do.

But are there any projects underway to reverse-engineer printer firmware and make it possible to flash the custom ROM onto a printer? No specific manufacturer in mind right now, but wouldn't that make things better? Simply disable all the stupid checks that claim that you NEED ink to scan or that you NEED yellow to print a black text?

FOSS-alt to Authy? (lemmy.dbzer0.com)
submitted 11 months ago* (last edited 11 months ago) by RandomLegend@lemmy.dbzer0.com to c/opensource@lemmy.ml

I currently use Authy on my android and my Linux system.

It syncs every new authenticator between my devices but I dont want to trust companies with my security anymore.

I host a nextcloud instance on my homelab. Does anyone know a good FOSS authenticator that can use my nextcloud to sync between Linux and android? Provided that it is available on both of course.

Thanks for any input!

How usable are AMD GPUs? (lemmy.dbzer0.com)
submitted 11 months ago* (last edited 11 months ago) by RandomLegend@lemmy.dbzer0.com to c/localllama@sh.itjust.works

Heyho, I'm currently on a RTX3070 but want to upgrade to a RX 7900 XT

I see that AMD installers are there, but is it all smooth sailing? How well do AMD cards compare to NVidia in terms of performance?

I'd mainly use oobabooga but would also love to try some other backends.

Anyone here with one of the newer AMD cards that could talk about their experience?

EDIT: To clear things up a little bit. I am on Linux, and i'd say i am quite experienced with it. I know how to handle a card swap and i know where to get my drivers from. I know of the gaming performance difference between NVidia and AMD. Those are the main reasons i want to switch to AMD. Now i just want to hear from someone who ALSO has Linux + AMD what their experience with Oobabooga and Automatic1111 are when using ROCm for example.

Komga and Kavita Metadata Fetcher is a tool that fetches metadata and thumbnails for your digital comic book library. It can automatically pick up added series and update their metadata and thumbnail. You can also manually search and identify series, or match the entire library or a series. Additionally, you can install the Komf userscript to add Komf integration directly to Komga and Kavita UI, allowing you to launch manual or automatic metadata identification.

It has a userscript to be integrated into the kavita UI https://github.com/Snd-R/komf-userscript

Android Auto (lemmy.dbzer0.com)
submitted 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) by RandomLegend@lemmy.dbzer0.com to c/lineageos@lemmy.ml

I currently use an OnePlus 9 Pro and want to switch to LineageOS.

I dont use banking apps and don't use Netflix or whatever.

The only thing holding me back is android auto. I searched various forums and posts and got a bunch of mixed results.

Can someone give me the current status on android auto with lineageos? Does it work, if yes, is it easy to install and use?
