Not only did they ban it, but they also barred its leaders from running in elections for 10 years: https://lemmy.ca/post/26497747.

Reuters and AP articles are INCOMPLETE.

They are freaking crazy. This court doesn't understand "democracy" if they think advocating for a law change is anti-democratic.

The article notes that Lashio's Northeastern Command was formed to battle the Chinese-formed and backed Communist Party of Burma (CPB).

"In 1971, Northeastern Command-led troops successfully repelled 40 days of “human-wave” attacks on Kunlong by the CPB, halting the offensive’s momentum and marking a historic turning point in the battle against the insurgency." "Human-wave" attack is a common mainland Chinese military attack tactic noted in Korea, and later on in Vietnam. This begs the question, whether CPB's troops back then in 1971 were in fact Communist Chinese troops.

Ironically, Northeastern Command has fallen to the MNDAA, a splinter group from CPB who are ethic Han Chinese.

Nobody is tracking a "progress" map that shows territory gains by date. the pinned map shows current territory status.

ARSA are the muslim Rohingya guerillas. This is the guerilla group whose clashes with the military in the past decade led to the Rohingya crisis in Burma. In an ironic twist, it is now the military who is arming and training the very same guerilla group to counter the growing power of Arakan Army whose members are drawn from native Arakanese of the state of Arakan.

Mainly for political influence in Burma. There are long histories of Chinese support for these groups. For instance, United Wa State army, the largest private army in the world with over 30,000 soldiers, was founded by Chinese as Communist Party of Burma's guerilla army when the original CPB's old guards broke up. The Chinese sourced leadership from ethnic Wa people who live on the Chinese side of the border and sent them to Burma to continue a guerilla war. This "new" CPB broke apart also eventually, along ethnic lines, with most of the group being of Wa ethnicity, and others belong to ethnic Han Chinese who were living in Burma or migrated to Burma. To this day, United Wa State Army uses Mandarin as official language. They have their own quasi-independent state within Burma, where the Chinese currency is the official currency.

Basically yes it's a full blow civil war. There's war in the cities between local PDF resistance groups and military. There's war in the borderland hills between old established ethnic guerilla armies who are growing more powerful each day and the junta. There's war in the flatland agricultural country side between local PDF groups and the junta. It's the junta against many many groups all over the country. And the junta are losing.

Your reading comprehension is poor. I made zero point about US power. You keep deflecting the issue of your basic error and minimizing the Chinese aggression against its neighbors. Issue is Chinese expansion and aggression in South China Sea, in the straits of Taiwan and Sea of Japan, and how it's neighbors are now banding together to prepare for this aggression. Your masters the Chinese are dumb because by making threatening gestures towards its neighbors it's brought this all on to themselves. They really haven't been smart, if you can think about. But you are a low level worker at a troll farm, and incapable of thinking.

MNDAA are no longer hiding where their allegiance lies.

They are no longer hiding the fact that they are working on behalf of the Chinese.
