Tried! Added one of those white barrel self leveling poke tools (can't remember specifically what they're called). It was a huuuuuge pain in the ass and only works about 50% of the time oddly, lol.

Not really. I purchased one with pretty significant maintenance/process requirements, had I gotten one a little more seamless (self leveling/etc) I think I'd use it far more often than I do now.

You live and are part of your nation and culture. The culture and life you've developed are in part, a part of your nation of origin. There are other nations that would be directly hostile to you regardless of your precieved association with your nation or not. You understand that, right? Like, I see what you're trying to argue and I would love for the world to work like that, but it simply does not for a variety of reasons far outside of our individual control.

I disagree towards the bots being the enemy of the free people. They're just another tool, and can be both good and bad. Plus they're likely needed when it comes to mass-scale disinformation campaigns like those launched by hostile foreign nations against countries in an effort to destabilize them. Much like veganism is far more nuanced than "eat salads", I believe technology and social media is far more nuanced than you're acknowledging.

It is a high risk job along the lines of coal mining and such, since it will result in an increase in transmitted disease risk. It's important to acknowledge that, but I am on the side of it being work. I just think we need strong protections in place and regulations to handle it akin to other dangerous jobs. Like, a sex work branch of OSHA.

If it's time, storage, and compute sensitive to generate it beforehand why on this green earth would you want to do it at stream runtime? Do you enjoy the thought of waiting 5-10 minutes for a stream to start or causing continual buffering problems during the stream? Also to my understanding the way it is built requires that the encoding be done for the entire length of the stream before any benefits are shown, so starting the process at stream launch would be less than useful even under the best circumstances. I think what you want to do is to sort your library into two, one you want to watch, and an archive. From there you can enable trickplay on just the "want to watch" library.

"I'd love to enjoy this free thing, but don't feel at all like contributing in a way that would actually move the needle towards that goal and have gotten impatient with making any progress towards assisting with bug fixes or anything valuable I could contribute from my end. Instead I'm going to shit post and complain for adviews. " - Rock Paper Shotgun.

Tbh it'd probably hurt more if it had to rupture your eardrum to get to your brain than it would to slither past your eyeball and through the socket. I mean, both are nightmare fuel, but given the choice I think I'll take the one that seems less physically traumatic haha.

Not to mention ads have been caught being straight up malware and phishing without any real vetting on behalf of the ad companies. Malware has even gotten to the top of Google search results just by buying an ad slot they didn't vet. It's become a legitimate and serious security concern.
