I disagree. The remix makes me even more excited to hear some really sad and depressing news 😎

Your post history is outrageously dramatic. I would advise you to find a healthy hobby or two, preferably away from the internet.

Swedes maybe? Or is there a significant population of Czechs with 48 fingers on each hand?

It's Mexico. $500 would override their legal obligations.

(Please don't crucify me, I spent a lot of time there and absolutely love Mexico, it's culture and it's people ❤️... But damn if I didn't spend a lot of money on bribes)

I would add that to use these stores it is HELPFUL (not mandatory) to understand what they are presenting.

F-Droid is a store for open source software, normally maintained (or not) by teams of passionate people or volunteers.

Aurora store is a mask over the Google play store, which can use an anonymous account to download files from the Google play store. The Aurora store may not be ideal of you are working with paid apps, but it is worth reading up before you blindly jump in here.

There is also the !privacy@lemmy.world or !privacy@lemmy.ml groups which can help if you want to de-google.

There seems to be a big push and pull going on with the EU and China at the moment. It feels like a middle ground has been decided that they accept the need to continue relying on China as a central component of its supply chain, but wrangling to have as many goods as possible manufactured inside the union.

It would be interesting to see the long term strategy here, if there is a comprehensive one.

Hmmm while I get your point, I was only saying that I have seen cases where the comments of proposals were seen by the commission, discussed further and then actioned upon. The most recent example that comes to my mind was the delay of the cybersecurity requirements within the radio equipment directive.

I did not say that public action is adequately taken into account and I am not privvy to what the direct intentions or submissions (on a legislative level) are for Fridays for Future etc.

I would however give credit where due to the EU for trying to actually force companies selling here to act in an eco friendly manner (e.g USB-C amendments, charger requirements, eco design regulation, carbon based price schemes). More is needed, but it's better than many other democracies

I get the joke, but we use this forum at work frequently, it has some sway during the consultation phase of discussion.

This is literally what taxation and subsidies are for.

The EU runs on 70% on-understandable process and regulation, everyone knows that! Good to see renewables pick up the rest.

Don't listen to everyone else, they clearly don't know your situation and that it is totally different to theirs. It's a fantastic idea, and can only end in the situation you are hoping for. Please keep us updated on how it goes :)

In case that wasn't motivating enough for you to try this amazing idea and report back to us (v. important) try these sentences:

  • you miss all the shots you don't take
  • would you rather live the rest of your life not knowing?
  • if no one took risks, we'd have never crossed the seas

I have a large number of photos edited and ready to go and want to then them into an album. Does anyone have any recommendations for any FOSS software that I can use to arrange the images to pages, and add text?

I intend to send the data to a professional printer for printing and binding.

My first thought was Libre Office's Draw, but maybe this community has something more appropriate.

Simple question, but I haven't been able to find any decent answer yet: Does anyone have a good guide for reducing fees when buying and selling coins for fiat?

I'm looking for a book (preferably eBook) which explains one or more engineering projects in great detail.

Anyone have any recommendations?
