Gender is performative. Race is not.

What I think you're doing is misogyny and gaslighting.

[–] LustyArgonianMana@lemmy.world 1 points 4 hours ago (1 children)

What definition is that? You can't even say what it is. How could we know if anyone else agrees with your definition if you don't have one? Can you read minds?

Also, again, a ton of examples of huge groups of people who don't believe in a gender binary. Including throughout time and in many cultures.

Last, can't you see how Trump saying "everyone says we have the biggest crowds," I'd the same narcissistic excuse you're using to arbitrarily force gender on to others?

[–] LustyArgonianMana@lemmy.world 2 points 6 hours ago (3 children)

Yeah, it's a culmination of your experiences and impressions. It's entirely subjective to you. That's why you can't project it onto other women and force them to follow your definition of woman. Everyone grows up in different spaces with different histories.

[–] LustyArgonianMana@lemmy.world 1 points 6 hours ago (1 children)

I mean I don't actually care what you do with your gender. But it doesn't sound like you experience gender euphoria by your own description of being agender (not identifying as a man) but performing gender as a man. It also sounds like you lack introspection about how the way you see gender, which is subjective and being projected onto others. So those things tend to mean you repress your gender because you don't even understand that what you're projecting is an idealized version of who'd you'd be if you were that gender/person.

No, it's that they fit the gender binary you've been trained to spot your whole life. However, we've found that the gender binary is inaccurate and wrong so it's stupid to force people to follow it arbitrarily.

I am reading what you're writing, I just disagree and you think I should agree. No thanks.

Then calling someone a woman must not be a way to describe hairstyle. What is woman a descriptor of then?

It's not recursive, did you read the example I linked? It's more like this:

A person has gone bankrupt when they declare bankruptcy.

This definition is specifically highlighting the condition of declaration being necessary to achieve the word being defined, and who is doing it. The declaration is what makes it existant.

Or

Miss USA is the person who is awarded the Miss USA title by judges.

Again here hilighting that it's an awarded position and who is awarding it.

If you think it can be more specific, go ahead, but you have been unable to give me any kind of satisfactory definition for woman yourself.

A doctor is anyone who is declared a doctor by an educational institution.

Hilights declaration and who is doing it.

A woman is anyone who identifies themselves as a woman.

Hilighting that identifying yourself is the key piece of this definition. A doctor isn't anyone who calls themselves a doctor, right? Not just anyone can be a doctor just because they declare it. But indeed anyone can become a woman and that the entire point of the emphasis of this definition.

Okay, what hairstyle is exclusive only to women and not accessible to men? Was Sinead O'Conner a woman?

Lol the conservatives are angry because they are entitled dickwads being told no. And if you empathize with that, well... Kinda seems like a veiled threat to me that if I don't cater to your stupid man feelings, you'll put me in my place. Well, I'm a lil too intellectually dangerous for that one and youre a giant coward so whatever. The conservatives are NO where near as angry as the women. There are many simultaneous movements happening including 4B as a reaction to men's abuse towards women. And it's time women started to make men feel our anger. We aren't your mommies. Women are the keeper of cultures. It's time to flex that. Let society bend or break.

And let's point out that you're the one who insists (prescribes) a basis for what a woman is other than this definition. You think society should prescribe and define gender for individuals, not the other way around.

Yeah, I have opinions. My opinion is that the definition for woman should be the above because it is the most inclusive of all types of women. That makes it a good definition because it's accurate.

That's fine, if you can't keep up with the few paragraphs I will accept your resignation and defeat. It's cool I won here and we can agree "a woman is anyone who identifies as a woman," is a good enough definition for women.

WINDOW ROCK, Ariz. — The President of the Navajo Nation announced earlier today that he was sending police to stop the transport of uranium across tribal lands. In his statement, President Buu Nygren said that the shipment was being done illegally. He also stated the lack of notice from the mining company posed a danger to his people.

"The lack of notification to the Navajo Nation is a blatant disregard for our tribal sovereignty and exposes our Diné people to toxic uranium,” Nygren said. “A substance that has devastated our community for decades.”

During the development of the first nuclear bomb and the subsequent nuclear arms race, Navajo lands were home to a large number of uranium mines. Sites across the Colorado Plateau, many of them on the Navajo reservation, were used to extract millions of tons of high-grade uranium ore.

Energy Fuels Inc., the largest uranium provider in the United States, agreed to give the tribe notice before hauling uranium across exempted highways. According to Nygren, the tribe only found out about the shipment after trucks had departed.

[Nygren dispatched tribal police to turn away the shipment. But, according to the Associated Press, the trucks left tribal lands before police could intercept them.

"As president, I do not approve of this transport and will continue to fight to ensure our people are protected from the actions of Energy Fuels,” Nygren said.

While Tuesday’s shipment quickly left tribal lands, no guarantee exists that Energy Fuels will honor their agreement in the future. President Nygren has vowed to use roadblocks to prevent further shipments of uranium while the tribe develops regulations.

This has been a doozy of a year. And it's the best year so far blah blah. So how are you all coping? Does it hit anyone else like a bolt of lightning that probably I - we - won't die of old age?
