  • Move the israeli embassy into Jerusalem
  • Literal mass Genocide on the Palestinians in Gaza

Which of these is worse?

Genocide does tend to rile some jimmies. I'd be more worried if it didn't.

Liberal Credo:

  • Your vote has no influence on politics, all politicians are sold to AIPAC
  • You must vote Democrat to save Democracy no matter what.

And the Democrats moved the embassy back right?

A Greek-flagged oil tanker with 25 crew members on board has caught fire after multiple attacks and is adrift in the Red Sea.

There were no reports of injuries to the crew, made up of 23 Filipinos and two Russians. Greece said the ship could have been hit either by missiles or drones.

The Iran-aligned Houthis began to target international shipping near Yemen last November, saying the move was in solidarity with Palestinians over the war in Gaza. The Houthis have not claimed responsibility for the Sounion attack.

Delta Tankers, the ship’s operator, confirmed the ship was adrift and had sustained minor damage. Sounion was on its way from Iraq to a port near Athens where there are many refineries, the Greek port authority said.

Just minutes before this recording began, the panel got word that the DNC officially confirmed a Palestinian speaker would not be brought to speak on stage at the convention on Thursday, despite officials suggesting to the movement earlier that it could happen.

The DNC had gone so far as shortlisting potential speakers, according to unnamed members of the movement who spoke to Zeteo.

Unlike other Democratic politicians who talked about the need to end the war, including US President Joe Biden who spoke on Monday, Obama chose to make vague comments about human rights and global peace, while making substantive remarks on several domestic policy issues such as affordable housing, reproductive rights, and immigration.

Throughout the conflict, the US has fast-tracked weapons and armaments to Israel's military and provided a diplomatic shield for Israel at the United Nations, where Washington blocked several early attempts to pass a resolution calling for a ceasefire.

The US also provides Israel with $3.8bn in military aid each year.

Israel's outgoing Ambassador to the United Nations, Gilad Erdan, called his former place of employment "an unnecessary building," and said that it should be "wiped off the face of earth."

According to the Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth, the hostages, who were taken from Khan Younis in southern Gaza, appear to have died of suffocation in the tunnel where they were being held.

The newspaper claimed that the incident occurred about six months ago during an Israeli military attack in Khan Younis by the 98th Division.

The report claimed that the army did not target the tunnel directly where the hostages were held but rather hit a Hamas target nearby, resulting in a fire and the subsequent release of lethal carbon dioxide gas inside the tunnel.

Several Hamas fighters were found dead alongside the Israeli hostages, armed with Kalashnikov rifles and showing no signs of injury, it said.

The deal to bring an end to the fighting in Gaza is on the brink of collapsing — and there is no clear immediate alternative agreement that could be put forward in its place, according to two U.S. and two Israeli officials.

Both Israel and Hamas also disagree over Israel’s presence in both the Philadelphi Corridor, a stretch of land on the Egypt-Gaza border, and in a main throughway that leads to northern Gaza. Israel has said it wants to maintain its position in both places to ensure Hamas cannot smuggle goods in through Egypt and reposition its strongholds.

“What was very shocking was that while we were all in the room discussing and listening to people impacted by what’s happening in Gaza, we’re not certain that that message will get across to the people at the top of the party,” Khader added. “You look at the themes of the party’s convention – today, tomorrow, Wednesday, and Thursday – there’s nowhere where Palestinians are included in that narrative.”

While the platform condemned former President Donald Trump for refusing to “endorse the political aspirations of the Palestinian people,” it made no divergence from the status quo policy of vetoing UN Security Council resolutions this year that moved towards Palestinian statehood.

While the platform boasts of being opposed to settler violence, it makes no acknowledgment of the International Court of Justice finding the Israeli government’s occupation and illegal expansions of settlements constitute apartheid.

And to that end, while the platform condemns UN efforts that apparently “single out” Israel, and the Boycott, Divest, and Sanctions movement for the same – apparently ignoring the historical precedent of Americans also boycotting and pushing divestment against fossil fuel companies and apartheid South Africa.

Chicago, Illinois – United States President Joe Biden’s send-off speech at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago was often interrupted by adoring chants of “Thank you, Joe.”

But outside the convention halls on Monday, thousands of protesters held signs accusing Biden of war crimes and referring to him as “Genocide Joe” in response to his support for Israel’s war in Gaza.

To Sabrene Odeh, an “uncommitted” delegate from Washington state, Biden’s words were not enough to allay her concerns about the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

“What’s going to be enough is an arms embargo [on Israel] and a ceasefire,” Odeh told Al Jazeera after the first night of the convention.

“To be quite honest with you, Biden has given us nothing but empty words for the last 10 months,” she said. “Words are not enough any more from President Biden. We need to see action.”

Hamas will not engage with the latest US ceasefire proposal due to its deviation from President Joe Biden’s deal outline announced in May, sources close to the Palestinian movement told Middle East Eye.

It described the latest proposal as a "reversal" on previous US-backed plans and “an American submission to the terrorist Netanyahu’s new conditions and his criminal plans towards the Gaza Strip”.

The previous ceasefire plan was backed by Biden as “Israel’s proposal” and later adopted by the UN Security Council in June.

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken on Monday said Netanyahu supports the latest American “bridging proposal” after meeting the prime minister in Israel. Blinken’s comments on Monday “baffled” some Israeli officials who believe Netanyahu’s new position is making a deal much harder to reach.
