Now i’m curious. Was it just a lot of dust and dried Inc. or what else was in them?

[–] Koopa_Khan@lemmy.world 3 points 2 days ago (3 children)

Instructions unclear, I’ve given the whole printer a bath and now all it does is blow bubbles

[–] Koopa_Khan@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago

Thank you! I’ll take a peak at it!

Thank you! Its the perfect size for things like this

I appreciate the info! I’ll be honest, I understand wiring and hardware but I get out of my depth once we start getting into firmware and software.

I’m thanking my lucky stars that Octoprint was as easy as it was. That being said, if that open source ams makes any progress, I might just reach out since it seems like klipper is the only thing it’ll work with. If you don’t mind, I may reach out when I get the courage up to give it a shot.

I appreciate your confidence in me, but I don’t think up for trying to learn how to deal with it. I don’t do well with troubleshooting firmware/software when things go tits up

Thank you!

I have a pi 4b running octoprint hooked up. Is there any advantage to going the klipper route?

In theory it shouldn’t mater if i use 4.2.2 firmware on the 4.2.7 board right?

After tuning my vref, the printer was missing steps still. I pulled the trigger and am swapping from the 4.2.2 to the 4.2.7 creality board to see if that resolves the issue.

While i was in there, I figured I’d put another z axis motor on there.

Do you guys have any recommendations on firmware or should I just stick with creality’s?

Thanks for the info! Maybe we’ll get there one day. I’d love a hand held ps2 lol

How powerful is the Pi 5? This would be awesome if I could get PS2 games on it

Good to hear! I pretty gave up on Sony ports after Helldivers ran like a potato, but maybe it was just that particular game

I wish they would have the specs ready to go when they announce these things. I don’t want to get all hyped just to find out my 1660s isn’t gonna have a chance in hell of running the game

That was my first thought. I thought it had maybe been 3 years

Sorry for the potato quality picture. I really thought we were over this since I tune the vref, but I guess not.

Do you guys have any idea why my info would look like this but all the walls on the printer are fine? I assume if it was a clog nozzle it would be inconsistent.

I apologize if this isn’t the correct community ask, but i was hoping for a bit of help getting this frame cleaned up.

My wife and I picked this piece up today. There’s some water damage and i’m wondering what the best way to clean the fabric matting would be or if we should get it replaced.

For those curious it looks like the artist is Edward Aldrich. We think its an oil painting and from the date we’re guessing its from 97.

Thanks everyone!

P.S. I took a look through the community and the art here is amazing!

Thank you guys for pointing out the vref issue in my last post! I got it adjusted, and they were all fairly high so now they should be dialed in. While I was in there, I figured I should probably calibrate the extrusion steps as well.

I’ve got a couple larger projects coming down the pipeline. But if I can go off of this cube, I think I’ll be in good shape.

I left the print over the weekend and I came back to spaghetti. It looks like something, caused the printer to push the print off its base like it was a poorly leveled bed?

I still have to watch the camera footage to see what failed, but I hope you guys get a chuckle out of the spaghetti monster like I did.

A few of you may remember my post about the back end of my boat falling off and wanted to say thank you for all of your advice/encouragement!

I started building a new rudder a couple weeks ago and am probably a couple weeks out from getting it finished up. The hole in the back end has been sealed up and I built a much stronger mounting point than the original system.

I found a template of my boats rudder and modeled a copy then 3d printed the core. Between the fiberglass and the rods I’ve added for rigidity, I’m hoping it works out well. It may be coming up to October, but I think I’ll get at least one test run before the season ends.

I took the boat out for its first sail this year and lost the rudder.

Do you guys think this is reparable or am I buying a new boat? It’d be a shame to lose her over something so stupid

Hi everyone!

I'm curious to know which slicer you guys use.

I've been using the Creality slicer, but it seems like it pretty consistently crashes, and I've tried Cura but the print seemed stringy despite using the same settings.

How are Orca or Prusa?

Hi all! I was curious to see if anyone had any recommendations for an enclosure for the Ender V3 Neo. I found a few on Amazon, but they look like grow tents and wasn’t sure if that would work well. For a bit of context, it seems like an enclosure is a must have for ABS printing which is ultimately what I’m after.

Thanks everyone!

We loaded up the Hunter 170 today to see how she would sail when loaded down with camping gear in preparation for next weekend’s trip to the Apostle Islands.

My wife is still a bit nervous, but feeling much more confident after today. Please ignore the watering can. She wanted to put a bit more weight onboard just in case.
