What they want to sell:

A mouse with the quality of the mice 20 years ago. And you need to subscribe to software updates. However the subscription is not optional. If you don't pay monthly you can't use the mouse.

What I would actually pay for:

A high quality mouse with an open interface and maybe open source software for it. So I can maintain the software by myself. Usually you can achieve a high quality standard in a few months, and unless there are some driver issues, it should work forever.

I have a "gamer mouse" with a lot of features, custom dpi settings, custom color settings, rebinding keys and so on.

However I used the software once to set it up and on Linux I can't even change it. I will never receive any updates!

Nuclear is a possible solution to more power.

However as long as we can't use the old nuclear waste as fuel we are not going to have to way to get uranium in way that is human and affordable.

Also nuclear power plants are expensive as fuck. You will pay several billions of euros in order to build one. You will have at least 10 years of building time. In that time the power demand may already have been doubled tripled or quadrupled. So are you ready to build 4 times as much of hundreds billions worth of power plants in the hope you finish them on time or don't over build?

Or do you want to build a solar plant or a wind farm in several months once demand has increased? For a fraction of the costs?

As long as the product is owned by the government it works. You can pay a contractor to build it, maybe even manage it, but you can't give the infrastructure to the private company that then has a monopoly

I am using an old laptop that gives me 3 minutes to run from one power plug to the other before just going out.

Well since the privatisation of germanies public transport systems everything went downhill.

We have less lines and lots of late trains. Funny thing is that the private company "Deutsche Bahn" was doing so bad it is now 100%owned by the state but still a "profit orientated" private company that does weird shit in order to fake the numbers.

2 > 1

This seems actually to be true.

I mean I can think of one or two reasons why, but why is this an issue for you?

That's exactly it.

The unit does restart about once every week and then goes back to suspend to ram.

You basically will never notice the restart unless you cut off power. And additionally drain all capacitors.

Well basically we have rockets now. If we want to use more advanced technology we use that, or drones.

When we need bombs those old ones still do their job.

While the town is that old I promise you that almost nothing looks like it was 1200 years ago. Maybe they can hold on that tradition 100 years but at some point the people won't bother. Need more space or don't see the point of it anymore
