“We don’t have to discuss it…” because the answer makes me look bad

Offer to trim her armor, girls like trimmed armor, Zezima told me.

The NYT actually commented on Trump’s age‽ Ian Malcom from the movie Jurassic Park exclaming that the “crazy son of a bitch did it”

Sounds like these yahoos are descendants of Walz’ grandfather’s brother. Almost as big of a nothing burger as his estranged brother’s Facebook post that ended up being about Tim getting car sick as a kid.

It’s just all flailing to try and find anything and they can’t. It’s glorious.

As one who values their sanity should. (I clearly do not)

Let’s just say that one notable account continues to return2 bad arguments, bad-faith accusations, terrible jumps in logic, and both-sides-bad complaints.

Cool, isn’t this the track that also features Kendrick Lamar? Probably not a big deal, he’s not really known for speaking up publicly when he feels wronged, right?

I suspect it was this one that already was. https://lemmy.world/post/18705908

They already are calling them paid vacations or indoctrination trips on Facebook.

My wife is one of the students that went on the trip with them the year she graduated, and apparently he speaks some Mandarin (if you asked him, he referred to it as “baby mandarin” at that point.)

She tells a story about a moment not long after they arrived in China that was basically straight out of the movies. Their shuttle buses pulled up, and the two drivers were speaking in Mandarin to each other and bad mouthing the students and adults, and generally just being kind of rude and he walked up to them and said in Mandarin something to the effect of “Hey Guys, how’s it going? Is there some sort of issue?” and their faces just blanched. The company apparently then sent out other shuttle bus drivers to pick them up and take them to where they were staying.

According to my wife, he did regularly dress it up

He had a replica Terra Cotta Warrior statue. It’s still at the school. He taught in a Chinese American experience school for a while after graduation and then would take students on a 2 week long trip to China at the end of the year when he taught in Mankato. (My wife was a student of his and we live in the community.)

Back in the mid 90’s Steve Perry wrote Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire and an orchestral soundtrack was published to go with it.

Since then, If I’m getting in to a book where I’m just focusing on reading (vs reading while I wait for an appointment for example) I like to try and match music with the style of book I’m reading. I have playlists where Gritty detective action gets groups like Street Cleaner, classic Fantasy gets soundtracks like this from The Elder Scrolls steampunk gets Lindsey Stirling and space operas get soundtracks from games like Halo or movies like Interstellar.

Do any of you do anything similar and if so do you mind sharing what you pair?

If you use the code block mark up ``` when sending a message, the result message is very difficult to read with a blue background text box. I discovered this when trying to send somebody text in markdown that wouldn’t be interpreted by the rendering engine.

Feel free to ask if I am not clear enough

“I graduated on June 1, 1996. That was 10,167 days ago, and it has been 10,167 days that I have not used algebra,” Farnsworth said on the Senate floor.

When I open a link to a video posted in a comment and it opens in the browser, I have to make sure I interact with the screen to keep the display timeout from triggering otherwise the display shuts off and the video/audio stops.

Thanks.

I use the page count plugin plus a template program I adapted from one found online (included below) to build a column that categorizes books by length. (I use this to build collections I use when I’m picking my next to read)

I’d like to exclude certain books from getting a classification though if they are PDFs or have tags like “Graphic Novel” or “Cookbook”. I’d appreciate any help figuring this out.

program:
val = field('#pagecount');
first_non_empty(
	cmp(val, 0, ' ', '', ''),
	cmp(val, 15, 'Flash Fiction', '', ''),
	cmp(val, 50, 'Short Story', '', ''),
	cmp(val, 100, 'Novelette', '', ''),
	cmp(val, 250, 'Novella', '', ''),
	cmp(val, 500, 'Short Novel', '', ''),
	cmp(val, 750, 'Long Novel', '', ''),
	cmp(val, 1000, 'Tome', '', ''),
	'Toe Breaker');

The movie is fine, but the soundtrack is fantastic.
