I have a reoccurring problem in Linux, happening in both Nobara 39 and 40 as well as Fedora 40. I understand that Nobara is Fedora based.

Sometimes my USB headset just does not detect, at all. Plug it in, no notification sound that it has been plugged in and does not appear as an audio device.

I have tried 3 different headsets and none detect. I have to reboot to solve the issue.

A friend of mine is also running Nobara and also comes across the same issue from time to time. It happened again for me today.

While I like Linux, I would love to stop using Windows and make Linux my main OS… I just cannot. Loads of my games and apps do not work in Linux as well as a lot of hardware control software. It took me ages just to get some software to control my GPU fans and I am unable to control my PC fans. From what I understand my motherboard has no Linux support, I cannot see a single sensor in any software I try. I eventually manually set up fan curves in BIOS.

I definitely does not just work for sure.

Adding my Manjaro experience, not good.

I tried it 3 times, fresh installs but it locks up my PC. If my screens turn off after a set amount of time I cannot wake up my PC. I turned off any sleep/standby/hibernate modes, only the screens turn off. If I head out for lunch and come back, the only way to get back in is to hard reboot.

I try not to listen to audiobooks unless I am walking/shopping just so they last longer.

It's a bit difficult for me to find something I want to listen to, I like a very specific type of writing and I seem to stick to it and look for similar.

I mostly listen to Terry Pratchett's books and at this stage I have listened to most of them a few times.

Audiobooks.

Listen to an audiobook and just walk, it does depend where you live though. I'm lucky there are a lot of trails and paths around my town.

I walk about 5km every day, done so for more than 2 years now and listening to audiobooks helps the time pass quite quickly.

What also helps a lot is doing some pushups at home as well, for a few months I did 100 pushups throughout the day and it really makes a difference.

I'm not entering, just seeing what's going on.

First I've heard of it.

But then again I grew up in South Africa, I doubt Gillette would send us anything for free.

It is a smart way to get young men hooked on their product so that they never try the competition. The blades I use are Astra which are made by the same company making Gillette blades, Procter & Gamble.

Hell, I actually did some work at their factory in Berlin many years ago and they were very specific about their name, it was drilled into me to use '&' and not 'and'.

When the Mach 3 launched, the women in my family were taking the mens' razors and saying how crappie their own women's razors were. The Mach 3 was a big hit.

I still use it myself. I shave my head and the 3 blades is much easier to clean out. I do use a safety razor on my head first to do most of the work because the blades are dirt cheap. About £11 for 100 and they are made by Gillette as well. I bought these blades years ago and still got about 15 left.

I use the Mach 3 to go over again to catch any hair I may have missed. I use it on my neck as well. Those multi-blades are a gimmick and I swear it's to drive up prices.

I also use shaving oil instead of gel or cream. A single bottle lasts me months, a big saving there as well.

I would love to have a rainbow unicorn bank card instead of this boring old dark green one of mine.

This image smells of AI.

The eyes look odd, looks like some lace in her hair that is the same colour, strands of material in her hair that leads nowhere the pendant on her necklace has broken lines, extra line under her middle finger, no nails, extra material on her dress pointing upwards to her collarbone.

I don't think the person who is credited this actually created this.

My downstairs neighbour is super right wing, told me he is as far right as you can go, full on conservative voter in the UK.

The other day he told me Trump is the only one that is going to be able to save the world and under his rule, the Russia Ukraine war would have never happened.

Told him Trump is in bed with Russia and would have just allowed them to take over, he said no and Trump siding with Russia would benefit the entire world's economy.

Straight face said this to me, man has brain-rot.
