Is it creepy what people collect data on their own viewing habits so they can visualise data for fun and keep track of things they've watched? I'm not sure I understand why that is creepy TBH. It's not like people are collecting data on viewing habits of random strangers.

LMGTFY

TL:DR it's an application for gathering statistics on jellyfin users and watching habits.

Yeah this actually works, but only specifically for openvpn on 443 in TCP mode...anything wireguard is blocked regardless of port.

This did the trick, ingot my tailscale to stay connected by using my phone AP to log on and then switched to hotel WiFi...thanks

I haven't encountered a captive portal at all. I can use the internet just fine without VPN.

I'll give that a go

Just Czech republic, I've already tried this in mullvad, it never connects.

I've used mullvad but that can't punch through either no matter what. Unfortunately I don't have enough mobile data abroad to fuel my streaming needs for the entire duration of my trip.

I'll talk to the reception when I get back to the hotel I guess...it's really frustrating and I hate using hotel WiFi without a VPN.

I'm travelling for the moment, and usually I just access my home network with tailscale and it has always worked flawlessly. But the hotel I'm staying at apparently blocks VPN connections, I can't use my regular VPN for work on their network either and I've tried obfuscation, different ports etc. nothing seems to work and it never connects.

How can I circumvent this, if at all? I'm staying for several weeks, so this is a pretty bug issue.

Wait what!? I can backup my entire 36tb library for $10/month!?

I'm running my media server with a 36tb raid5 array with 3 disks, so I do have some resilience to drives failing. But currently can only afford to loose a single drive at a time, which got me thinking about backups. Normally I'd just do a backup to my NAS, but that quickly gets ridiculous for me with the size of my library, which is significantly larger than my NAS storage of only a few tb. And buying cloud storage is much too expensive for my liking with these amounts of storage.

Do you backup only the most valuable parts of your library?

Why not go for a CANBUS toolhead with umbilical cable? That ditches the chains too and doesn't require that many new parts to print.

we can skip past the fantasy that you could replace a surface mount stepper driver yourself.

The MBs on these cheap printers are usually so cheap it isn't worth the hassle, even if you have the skills and tools.

it's a problem because graphene os doesn't pass google play safety check, or whatever it is called. They are apparently not able to make the sandboxes play services good enough to pass so the app accepts it's validity.

I sweat a lot when I exercise. After an hour of running at medium intensity (~150bpm avg HR) in 20°C @ 50% humidity, I am literally drenched in sweat. I can wring my clothes and sweat will pour from it. It's difficult to find clothes that are comfortable to wear for my long trips.

My gluetun VPN keeps failing the health check after running for a few hours. I found that some had fixed this by changing the update period to a shorter interval, and this worked for a while for me as well. But for the last 24h or so, it keeps failing after a few hours.

How can i fix this?

docker compose:

gluetun log:

I've started setting up my media server and was wondering if I should put my docker containers with sonarr and radarr behind my VPN the same as my qbit?
