Fuck off. Thanos was a decent person who had a good idea.

Musk is a piece of shit.

He was very much the Elon Musk of his times, and it's very possible he would have gone down the same route of extremist views and decisions that completely failed because of his egoism.

Some interesting points, and some things I disagree with.

Firstly it's annoying he keeps calling it his idea and trying to enforce this concept that the current internet needs to align with his original goals. That's stupid and ignores that things will go where they go, he can't control them.

So his first point about centralisation being an issue isn't that big a grievance. But his second point rings true - the issues around our data and advertising have grown significantly and the Web is getting much worse as a result.

I actually think the solution is just government needs to step in and regulate it, along the lines of what the EU is doing. Realistically I think that's the only solution that'll help. Doing some grassroots movement and hoping it picks up steam is just unrealistic. Like looking at Lemmy and Mastadon - they're great but at this pace they'll never take over the other giants in the space. You need someone to step in and force the change.

My reading of chip wars and similar chip fabrication places is this stuff takes decades to develop and is insanely expensive. Is that not the case here?

Lol ok.

This is getting to Y2K hype levels, and in a similar fashion, will not do anything.

I get Linux people like to fanboy/shit over Windows but surely you're tech literate enough to realize this is making a mountain from a molehill.

OP doesn't understand the difference between piracy and drm-free.

But hey, looks like the advertising is working on you to promote GOG so good on them for a successful tweet.

Yep exactly this. The user friendliness and likeliness it just works is much higher for Windows.

If it doesn't work for Linux I've found it also will generally take much longer to figure out and fix.

PSVR - fun for a week but otherwise useless.

You're thinking of now not the future. It's a great device at the moment. But it'll become out dated with time and it'll be easy for the next steam deck to be shit or for shitty practices to come into play.

And using the example of piracy/other stores means every device is fine. Just hack the device/remove the shitty practices and you're good to go whether it's a steam deck, Windows, Etc.

Steam already has a fair few shitty issues like its promotion of gambling.

Gabe will pass one day and the enshittification will happen, it's not like Steam is immune at end of day. People need to stop glorifying companies.

Sorry, here you go since you missed the comment seemingly.

"It will never happen. Biden is owned by the same people as Trump. There's only one party, the party of the Oligarchs."

Did you even read what OP said lol? It's right in front of you, the first sentences. If I'm being dishonest then you are on another level of insane/lying.

Let me explain it to you since you don't seem to understand.

OP makes a statement that all democrats and republicans act the same and are equal.

I say no, that's not right.

Other poster says well if you look at this one example, they voted together!

I said looking at one example isn't reflective of the whole picture. That I can just pick another example that shows they don't vote together. You need to look at it overall instead of cherypicking facts that suit you.

Do you understand the logic there and why what you wrote makes no sense?

I can make it simpler perhaps if you need it.
